GIRLS TRACK: Dixon helps Valley beat Canyon Springs

DaNiece Dixon won two individual events and ran on a winning relay to lead Valley’s girls track team to an 89-48 home victory over Canyon Springs on Wednesday.

Dixon won the long jump (16 feet) and 100 hurdles (16.1 seconds) and ran on the winning 400 relay team.

Dixon also placed second in the triple jump.

Valley’s Brooke Timothy won the 800 (2 minutes, 43.4 seconds) and 1,600 (6:09). Jayla Stevenson-Collins added wins in the shot put (32 feet, 9¼ inches) and discus (106-2) for the Vikings.

Salah, Gators beat Skyhawks

At Green Valley, Emani Salah won the 100, was second in the 200 and ran on the winning 400 relay team to lead the Gators to a 63-30 win over Silverado.

Salah ran 13.78 to win the 100.

Oliver helps Dragons to victory

At Eldorado, Azhwalaee Oliver won three individual events to help the Dragons to a 98-42 win over Sundevils.

Oliver won the 100 (18.2) and 300 hurdles (57.5), and also the high jump after clearing 4-6.

Kalijah Williams and Ingrid Zarate-Albarran each won two events apiece for Del Sol. Williams tied for first in the 100 with 13.1 and won the 200 outright in 28.5. Zarate-Albarran won the 800 (2:48.9) and the 1600 (6:06.9).

Eldorado’s Stefani Freeman won the long jump (14-3) and triple jump (29-3 ½).

Diamondbacks take four-team meet

At Bonanza, Dominique Korschinowski won two events to help Desert Oasis win a four-team meet over Bonanza, Indian Springs and Laughlin.

Korschinowski won the 100 hurdles (18.6) and the 300 hurdles (51.5) as the Diamondbacks finished with 147 points. Bonanza was second with 99 points, followed by Indian Springs (11) and Laughlin (8).

Acacia Williams and Sianna Nelson each won two events for the Bengals. Williams was first in the 100 (13.6) and the 200 (28.3), while Nelson won the long jump (16-7) and triple jump (32-1) and was second in the high jump with a mark of 4-8.

Mavroudis, Cougars top Falcons

At Coronado, Morgan Mavroudis won two individual events and was second in another to lead the Cougars to an 85½-37½ victory over Foothill.

Mavroudis was first in the high jump (5-1) and 100 hurdles (15.86) and was second in the long jump.
