GIRLS TRACK: Foothill wins triangular meet at home

Hannah Bunker, Alyse Vanek and Rakayla Tyler each won two individual events Wednesday to help Foothill’s girls track team to a win in a home triangular meet.
The Falcons had 95 points. Del Sol was second with 74, and Indian Springs took third with 11.
Bunker won the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 6 inches, and the long jump with a distance of 13-4¼.
Vanek won the 1,600-meter run in 5 minutes, 47.8 seconds and the 3,200 in 12:46.5, and Tyler won the 200 in 26.6 and the 400 in 1:01.
Crusaders win four-team meet
At Faith Lutheran, Hannah Pavlov and Cayla Nikodemus each took two events as the Crusaders won a four-team meet.
Pavlov was first in both the 1,600 (5:47.58) and the 3,200 (13:39.35). Nikodemus captured the 200 in 25.63 and the long jump with a distance of 16-7¼.
Faith Lutheran had 108 points. Pahrump Valley was second with 59, followed by Desert Pines with 57 and Virgin Valley with 42.
Norris, Skyhawks top Las Vegas
At Silverado, Amari Norris won three events to power the Skyhawks to a 95-41 win over Las Vegas.
Norris won the 100 (12.3), 200 (25.3) and high jump (5-0).
Miners win four-team meet
At Clark, Brittany Veal won three events to help Sunrise Mountain take a four-team meet.
Veal won the 100 hurdles (14.9), the 300 hurdles (46.6) and the high jump (5-0) to help the Miners to 110 points. Clark was second with 84, followed by Western with 25 and Moapa Valley with 23.
Clark’s Johnice Bland won the 100 in 12.9 and the long jump with a distance of 16-0½.
Western’s Kasia Lawrynowicz won the 200 in 26.8 and the 400 in 1:00.9.
Pioneers edge Rams
At Canyon Springs, the Pioneers won the three contested relays en route to a 66-54 win over Rancho.
Rancho’s Chyrese Patterson won the 200 (25.8) and 400 (1:01.2). Miracle Blalark added wins in the shot put (34-11½) and discus (102-3) for the Rams.
