GIRLS TRACK: Martin, Gourrier send Bulldogs by Panthers

Grace Martin and Alexis Gourrier each won two individual events Wednesday to help Centennial’s girls track team to a 111.17-44.83 win over host Palo Verde.

Martin won the 100-meter dash in 12.3 seconds and the 200 in 26.4.

Gourrier took the 1,600 in 5:25.8 and the 3,200 in 11:23.2.

Falcons down Rancho

At Foothill, Laura Simonson won two individual events to lead the Falcons to a 101-40 win over Rancho.

Simonson was first in the 100 in 13.58 and the 300 hurdles in 50.55.

Rancho’s Megan Sloan took second in the 300 hurdles, the high jump and the long jump and was third in the pole vault.

Diamondbacks, Gators share spoils

At Silverado, Desert Oasis’ Ashle Love won two individual events, and the Diamondbacks swept the relays as they tied Green Valley for first in a three-team meet.

Desert Oasis and Green Valley finished with 72 points apiece. Silverado was third with 39 points.

Love won the 100 in 12.60 and was first in the 300 hurdles in 48.47.

Deborah Olalare won the 200 (26.86) and was second in the 100, while Eboni Thomas won the triple jump (34-5½) and was second in the long jump for Green Valley.

Silverado’s Monet Salazar won the discus (126-8) and was second in the shot put.
