GIRLS TRACK: Trio helps Palo Verde girls down Sierra Vista

Shakiya Hollis, Malissa Oliver and Marissa Suan each won two events on Tuesday to help Palo Verde’s girls track team defeat visiting Sierra Vista, 88½-56½.

Hollis won the shot put with a mark of 33 feet, 2 inches and the discus with a mark of 95-7. Oliver was first in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.0 seconds and the 300 hurdles (51.8), and Suan took the 800 (2:31.2) and the 1,600 (5:23.7).

Sierra Vista’s Sydney Land won the 200 (25.2) and the 400 (59.1).

Cougars down Dragons

At Del Sol, Charleen Jordan won two events, and Coronado swept the relays in a 109-37 victory over the Dragons.

Jordan was first in the 100 hurdles in 15.6 and won the 200 meters in 11.8.

DeCunzo leads Grizzlies to win

At Durango, Jozee DuCunzo won two events to lead Spring Valley to a win over the Trailblazers and Calvary Chapel.

DeCunzo won the 800 (2:52.7) and 1,600 (6:23.6) for the Grizzlies, who had 79 points. Durango was second with 56, and Calvary Chapel had 31.

Durango’s Yasmine Thigpen was first in the 100 (12.8) and 400 (1:05.3). Calvary Chapel’s Phallen Nelson won the 200 (29.35) and long jump (15-6) and was second in the 100 and 400.

Bonds leads Bulldogs by Diamondbacks

At Desert Oasis, Tiana Bonds won three events to help the Bulldogs defeat the Diamondbacks. Team scores were not available.

Bonds won the 100 hurdles (13.6), the high jump (5-2) and the long jump (18-3) for Centennial, which also got two wins apiece from Kiana Sai and Sydney Badger.

Sai won the shot put (35-8½) and the discus (91-0), and Badger won the 400 (58.7) and 1600 (5:03.6).

Desert Oasis’ Addison Tollestrup took the triple jump with a mark of 31-6 and finished third in the long jump (14-4½).

Aggies down Shadow Ridge

At Shadow Ridge, Jocelyn Jordan won two individual events to help Arbor View to a 103½-42½ win over the Mustangs.

Jordan took the long jump with an effort of 14-9½ and was first in the triple jump with a distance of 35-4.
