GIRLS TRACK: Vanderhoven, Atkerson spark Foothill

Sarah Vanderhoven and Hannah Atkerson each won two events Tuesday to lead Foothill’s girls track team to a 97-30 win over visiting Canyon Springs.
Vanderhoven won the 1,600-meter run in 5 minutes, 50.8 seconds, and took the 3,200 in 13:15.58.
Atkerson won the shot put (29 feet, 10½ inches) and discus (89-6).
Canyon Springs’ Alyviah Brouchet won three events. She edged Foothill’s Laura Simonson in the 100, finishing in 13.2, a hundredth of a second ahead of Simonson.
Brouchet also won the 200 (28.07) and 300 hurdles (50.83).
Sunrise Mountain takes four-team meet
At Faith Lutheran, Isis Bryant won two events to lead Sunrise Mountain to victory in a four-team meet.
Bryant won the discus (100-3) and shot put (35-5¾) for the Miners, who had 87 points. Virgin Valley was second with 73, followed by Faith Lutheran (68) and Clark (18).
Seantel Hall won the triple jump (30-8½) and was second in the long jump and pole vault for Sunrise Mountain. Ayla Diaz took the 100 hurdles (17.14), was second in the 300 hurdles and third in the 200 for the Miners.
Virgin Valley’s Kaydee Bingham won the 200 (28.21) and long jump (14-2), and Faith Lutheran’s Emily Seigle won the 800 (2:46.44) and 1,600 (6:07.56).
Bengals top Bishop Gorman
At Bonanza, Michelle Angulo-Zavala won the 800 (2:45.2) and 3,200 (15:50.58) to lead the Bengals to a 94-75 win over Bishop Gorman.
Arkeisha Sankey won the triple jump (28-7½) and was second in the high jump and long jump for the Bengals.
Gorman’s Taylor Girard won the 100 (13.61) and long jump (15-1), and Kira Roth took the 100 hurdles (17.28) and 300 hurdles (51.57) for the Gaels.
Skyhawks top Rams
At Silverado, Mikayla Kelley won three events to lead the Skyhawks to an 82-46 win over Rancho.
Kelley won the 100 (12.6), long jump (16-4¾) and triple jump (34-1½).
