Gorman’s Cunningham sets national junior indoor high jump record

Bishop Gorman senior Vashti Cunningham set a U.S. junior indoor record in the high jump Friday, clearing 6 feet, 4¾ inches at the New Mexico Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Cunningham won the open event at the meet, defeating three-time Olympian Chaunte Lowe.
Cunningham set the national high school outdoor record last summer, clearing 6-5¼ in the Pan-American Junior Championships.
