ROUNDUP: Bond, Wright pace Silverado girls to tri-meet win

Diamond Bond and Diamondique Wright each won two events Wednesday to help Silverado’s girls track and field team win a three-team meet at Canyon Springs.

Bond was first in the long jump at 16 feet, 5½ inches and triple jump at 32-1. Wright won the shot put with a hurl of 36-4½, and the discus with a toss of 104-11¾.

Silverado scored 106½ points to top Canyon Springs (75½) and Trinity (3).

Jamila Pullum won the 200 (27.0 seconds) and 400 (1:01.5) to lead Canyon Springs.

Wharton, Johnson pace Valley to win
At Valley, Krystal Wharton and Ashley Johnson won two events apiece to lead the Vikings past Chaparral.

Wharton took the 100-meter dash in 12.9 seconds and the long jump at 16-8.

Johnson won the 100 hurdles in 18.1 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 52.1.

Valley had 118½ points to Chaparral’s 26½.

Valley’s Nyasia Hightower took the shot put at 25-4½ and the discus at 78-4.

Ruppert leads Cougars past Gators
At Coronado, Brooke Ruppert won the 100 (13.2) and 200 (27.3) to lead Coronado (82½) past Green Valley (57½).

Green Valley’s Kirsten Pinkelman won the shot put (33-6½) and discus (88-0½), and Courtney Thomas took the long jump (16-1) and triple jump (32-4).

Centennial girls top Palo Verde
At Centennial, Tamera Williams and Karli Johonnot each won two events to lead the Bulldogs to an 88-53 win over Palo Verde.

Williams won the 100 (12.9) and 200 (25.8), and Johonnot was first in the 100 hurdles (15.2) and high jump (5-2).
