ROUNDUP: Gray helps Cheyenne girls to tri-meet win

Jennifer Gray won a pair of events Wednesday to lead Cheyenne’s girls track team to victory in a three-team meet at Faith Lutheran.
 
The Desert Shields finished with 75 points points to top Faith Lutheran (65½) and Moapa Valley (41½).
 
Gray won the 200 (27.0 seconds) and 400 (1 minute, 1.5 seconds).
 
Cheyenne’s Jenae Brown was first in the shot put (36 feet, 2½ inches) and second in the discus (100-9).
 
Faith Lutheran’s Krystal Onyema won the long jump (15-8½) and triple jump (34-6½).

Canyon Springs tops Rancho, Agassi Prep
At Canyon Springs, Heather Hollinger won two individual events and a relay to lead Canyon Springs’ girls track team to victory in a tri-meet.

 
The Pioneers finished with 74 points to down Rancho (55) and Agassi Prep (3).
 
Hollinger placed first in the 1,600 (5:59.3) and the 3,200 (13:07.0) and was part of the winning 3,200 relay squad (10:52.6).

Vikings top Wildcats
At Valley, the host Vikings won 13 events on the way to a 98-44 win over Las Vegas.

 
Valley won all four relays.
 
Las Vegas’ Breanna Melton took the 200 (27.8) and 300 hurdles (48.6).
