ROUNDUP: Hammel’s triple nets Bonanza girls win

Bree Hammel won three events Tuesday to lead Bonanza’s girls track team to an 80-50 home victory over Desert Oasis.

Hammel took the 200-meter dash in 26.3 seconds, the 400 in 1:02 and the triple jump with a mark of 33 feet, ¾ of an inch.

Also for Bonanza, Megan Thorne won the 100 hurdles (18.6) and 300 hurdles (52.3), Emily Adams finished first in the 1,600 (6:14.9) and 3,200 (13:07.8) and Leida Escobar took the shot put (25-7) and discus (63-0).

Brooks, Koch lead Panthers to victory
At Palo Verde, MacKenzie Brooks and Kelsi Koch won two events each as the Panthers (106 points) cruised past Faith Lutheran (64) and The Meadows (16).

Brooks won the 100 hurdles (18.3) and 300 hurdles (50.7), and Koch took the 1,600 (5:43.9) and 3,200 (12:11.6).

Faith Lutheran’s Joi Goynes took the 100 (13.3) and 200 (26.8), and teammate Kiah Mayo won the high jump (5-0) and long jump (16-2½).

Lindgren helps Trojans to win
At Pahrump, Ashley Lindgren took two events to help Pahrump Valley (152 points) to a win over Western (61), Beatty (38) and Bishop Gorman (12).

Lindgren won the 1,600 (5:17.6) and 3,200 (11:42.3).

Western’s Tierra Tyler took the 100 (11.8) and 200 (25.3).

Grizzlies take tri-meet
At Spring Valley, the Grizzlies  won 10 of the 18 events and took first in a three-team meet.

Spring Valley had a team score of 90, followed by Durango with 66 and Calvary Chapel with 21.

Durango’s Tiarra Belville won three events, taking the high jump (5-0), long jump (14-6) and triple jump (32-5). Teammate Raneka Miller took both hurdle events, capturing the 100 in 18.4 seconds and the 300 in 47.6.

Melton, Perez lead Las Vegas High to win
At Las Vegas, Breanna Melton and Claudia Perez each won two events as the Wildcats beat visiting Chaparral and Trinity.

Las Vegas finished with 75 points, followed by Chaprral (54) and Trinity (13).

Melton won the 100 hurdles (17.0) and 300 hurdles (48.4). Perez won the 800 (2:41.5) and 1,600 (5:52.8).

Trinity’s Andrea Perez was first in the 200 (27.1) and 400 (1:03.5) and finished second in the 100.
