ROUNDUP: Moore paces Palo Verde girls to victory
Palo Verde’s Grace Moore won three events Thursday to lead the Panthers to a 108-32 girls track win over visiting Durango.
Moore was first in the 400-meter dash (1 minute, 5.8 seconds), 100 hurdles (16.7) and high jump (4 feet, 8 inches).
Marissa Suan, Shauna Groven and Shakiya Hollis each won two events for Palo Verde, which captured all but one event.
Suan took first in the 1,600 (5:45.9) and 3,200 (12:16.8), Groven won the long jump (14-7) and triple jump (29-7), and Shakiya Hollis won the shot put (37-5) and discus (86-2).
Simmons, Willeford lead Bulldogs
At Bonanza, Haileigh Willeford and Daneigh Simmons each won two individual events to lead Centennial to victory in a three-team meet.
Willeford won the 100 hurdles (17.2) and 300 hurdles (48.8), and Simmons took the 400 (1:03.1) and 800 (2:45.7) for the Bulldogs, who finished with 102½ points. Bonanza (74) was second and Word of Life (3½) third.
Emily Adams won the 1,600 (5:58.0) and 3,200 (12:57.3) for Bonanza. Sianna Nelson took the long jump (15-5) and triple jump (32-9) for the Bengals, and teammate Vasati Fiatoa won the shot put (37-1½) and discus (87-7).
Stepp, Pioneers win
At Canyon Springs, Sierra Stepp won two events to help the Pioneers past Silverado, 74-54.
Stepp won the 800 (2:54.2) and 1600(6:27.). The Pioneers also swept the relays.
Monet Salazar won the shot put (29-8½) and discus (92-9) for Silverado.
Starks, Mustangs beat Spring Valley
At Shadow Ridge, Brandii Starks captured two events, and Shadow Ridge defeated Spring Valley, 112-42.
Starks cleared 4-2 to win the high jump and went 15-3 in the long jump.
Sarah Estenson (pole vault) and Shaunna Patterson (200) were the lone individual winners for Spring Valley.
Coquia leads Longhorns to win
At Legacy, Micayla Coquia won four events as the Longhorns defeated Cimarron-Memorial, 84-34.
Coquia won the 100 (12.3), 200 (26.0), 400 (1:03.1) and discus (119-7).
Caprecia Singleton won the 100 hurdles (17.6) and 300 hurdles (51.3) for Legacy.
