ROUNDUP: Raymond, Basic girls race past Patriots

Jessica Raymond won the 800- and 1,600-meter runs on Thursday to lead Basic’s girls track team to a 75-71 home victory over Liberty.

Raymond won the 800 in 2 minutes, 32.1 seconds, and took the 1,600 in 5:40.7.

Liberty’s Ashlie Blake won the shot put (44 feet, 9½ inches) and discus (135-6), and Deja Devoux won the long jump (14-2) and discus (29-4) for the Patriots.

Moore, Sundevils win
At Del Sol, Autumn Moore won the 100 (12.8) and 200 (26.7) as Eldorado beat the Dragons, 79-67.
Del Sol’s Jazmyne Pasqual won the shot put (32-11½) and discus (87-1).

Stevenson-Collins leads Vikings
At Canyon Springs, Jayla Stevenson-Collins won the shot put (28-5½) and discus (95-7) to help Valley to a 96-43 win over the Pioneers.

Courtney Robinson took the 100 (12.0) and 200 (25.4) for Canyon Springs. Teammate Brooklyn Allison was first in the 800 (2:39.2) and 1,600 (6:02.4).

Desert Pines tops Pirates
At Desert Pines, the Jaguars swept the relays on their way to a 66½-51½ win over Moapa Valley.

The Pirates’ Summer Evans won the 200 (28.3), 100 hurdles (19.7) and 300 hurdles (54.0). Moapa Valley’s Shelbie Gray won the shot put (33-10) and discus (101-0½), and teammate Kelly Udall won the 1,600 (6:51.6) and 3,200 (15:52.4).

Gators’ depth too much for Silverado
At Green Valley, the Gators had 10 athletes win outright or share first place in individual events en route to a 78-64 win over Silverado.

The Skyhawks’ Jasmyn Garcia won the 100 in 13.06 and the long jump with an effort of 17-4¼.
