TRACK: Clark girls sneak past Rattlers

Clark’s Johnice Bland and Shyanne Carter-Wade each won two events Wednesday, and the Chargers edged visiting Mojave 68-65 in girls track.

Bland won the 200-meter dash in 27.0 seconds, and added a first-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 16 feet, 1/2 inch.

Carter-Wade swept the throws, taking the shot put (29-4) and the discus (72-9).

Mojave’s Tamara Frezzell was first in the 400 (1:04.2) and 800 (2:42.7). Teammate Kationa Baughman swept the hurdles, winning the 100s in 16.7 and the 300s in 49.1.

Williams, Eagles hurdle Bulldogs
At Boulder City, Jana Williams won both hurdle events to lead the Eagles to a 91-51 win over Virgin Valley.

Williams won the 100 hurdles in 18.3, and the 300 hurdles in 50.6.

Taylor Bryant won the 200 (28.6) and high jump (4-10) for the Bulldogs.

Buskas, Gators defeat Rams
At Rancho, Paulina Buskas won the 100 (12.9) and 400 (1:04.0) to lead Green Valley to a 90-56 win over the Rams.

Parris McCray won the 100 hurdles (15.4) and 300 hurdles (47.4) for Rancho.

Trio guides Faith Lutheran to win
At Cheyenne, Clarissa Maxey, Hannah Pavlov and Macy Helm each won two events to lead Faith Lutheran to a 121-14 win over the Desert Shields.

Maxey won the 100 in 12.5 and the 200 in 26.1. Pavlov took the 800 in 2:31.5 and the 1,600 in 5:38, and Helm claimed the 100 hurdles in 16.5 and the 300 hurdles in 49.8.
