TRACK: Jamaica Lewis helps Green Valley girls edge Coronado

Jamaica Lewis won two events Thursday to lead Green Valley’s girls track team to a 74-71 home win over Coronado in a Southeast League dual meet.

Lewis was the day’s only two-event winner. The senior won the 100-meter dash in 13.52 seconds and took the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 3½ inches.

Emily Campos won the shot put (30-10½) and was second in the discus for the Gators.

Emily Wickens won the 100 hurdles (17.07) and was third in the 300 hurdles to lead Coronado.

Boys

At Green Valley, three Coronado boys cleared 13-0 in the pole vault as the Cougars beat the Gators, 74-72.

Edward Andrews won the event. Garrett Furlong, who also cleared 5-8 to win the high jump, was second. Jonathan Trinidad placed third.

Chaise Hamilton won the discus (153-8) and was second in the shot put for Coronado..

Green Valley’s David Varner won the 100 (11.67) and 110 hurdles (15.93).

Khari Bulter won the 800 (2:11.95) and was second in the high jump for Green Valley, and teammate Justin Pearson won the shot put (44-8) and was second in the discus.
