Silverado distance runner Omar Aguilar-Espinoza won the 1,600-meter run and the 5,000-meter run at the Las Vegas Track Classic at Desert Oasis High School.
Basic’s Blake Fenyves won the shot put, and Joren McKeever won the high jump Thursdy to power the Wolves to a victory in a four-team home meet.
Emily Capps swept the throwing events Thursday to lead Foothill’s girls track team to victory in a four-team meet at Basic.
Zaylon Thomas won two individual events and ran on the winning 1,600-meter relay team Wednesday to help Centennial’s boys track team win a four-team meet at Palo Verde.
Sarah Walters, Julia Ramirez and Hailee Thornley each won one individual event and ran on a winning relay team Wednesday to help host Virgin Valley’s girls track team defeat Sunrise Mountain and Cheyenne.
Dillon Stewart, Andrew Burdalski and Tom Dougherty each won one individual event and ran on a winning relay team Tuesday to help Coronado’s boys track team pull out a 71-70 win at Silverado.
Emily Wickens won one individual event and was a part of two winning relay teams Tuesday to help Coronado’s girls track team to an 83½-57½ win at Silverado.
Liberty senior pole vaulter Gabby Carson has cleared 13 feet this season, which is the best mark in Nevada and the seventh-best nationally this season.
