Aggies advance to Beach City Invitational title match

Arbor View’s boys volleyball team won three matches Saturday before falling in the championship match of the Beach City Invitational in La Jolla, California.

Torrey Pines downed the Aggies, 26-24, 25-17 in the title match.

Gideon Belnap had eight kills, and Jaylen Harris and Chad Decker each had six kills for Arbor View, which got 13 assists from Max Senior.

Harris and Belnap were named to the all-tournament team, and teammate Tyler Worthington was named the tournament’s most valuable libero.

Arbor View 2, Francis Parker (Calif.) 1 — Belnap had 15 kills, seven digs and four blocks, and Senior had 33 assists, three blocks and two aces to help the Aggies to a 35-33, 22-25, 15-11 win over the Lancers.

Worthington had 10 digs and four aces, and Logan Bollinger had six kills and six blocks for Arbor View.

Arbor View 2, Murrieta Valley (Calif.) 1 — Belnap had 19 kills, and Decker had nine kills eight digs and two blocks as the Aggies outlasted the Nighthawks, 24-26, 25-19, 15-12.

Harris had 10 kills and four blocks, and Senior dished out 35 assists for Arbor View, which got 23 digs from Worthington.

Arbor View 2, Ramona (Calif.) 0 — Harris had 10 kills, three blocks and seven digs to help the Aggies post a 25-16, 25-18 win over the Bulldogs.

Belnap had 13 kills, and Decker added seven kills and two aces for Arbor View, which got 34 assists from Senior.
