Legacy boys volleyball wins Longhorn Invitational

Tournament Most Valuable Player Tanner Compton had 12 kills and six digs to help host Legacy’s boys volleyball team to a 25-22, 23-25, 15-12 win over Coronado in the championship match of the Longhorn Invitational on Saturday.
Trent Compton added 10 kills and five blocks, and Braden Liu had five kills, 33 assists and five digs for the Longhorns. Zaire Franklin had seven kills, five digs and two blocks for Legacy, which defeated Bonanza in the quarterfinals and survived a three-set match against Valley in the semifinals.
Valley defeated Green Valley in the third-place match.
Trent Compton also was named to the all-tournament team along with Coronado’s Max Osmundson and Logan Dickover, Valley’s Jack Heavey and Matt Ballaro, Las Vegas High’s Chris Kampshoff, Foothill’s Trevor Robison, and Tech’s Joshua Wood.
