ROUNDUP: Andrews, Falcons sweep Liberty, lock up Southeast’s final playoff berth

Clancey Gilles had 31 assists, and Kendell Andrews tallied 13 kills and nine digs Wednesday to help Foothill’s boys volleyball team post a 25-22, 25-15, 25-22 win at Liberty.

Caleb Hutchinson added 11 kills for the Falcons, who clinched the Southeast League’s final spot for next week’s Sunrise Region playoffs.

The Falcons and Basic tied at 7-7 in league play and split the season series, but Foothill’s beaten opponents had more league wins than Basic’s.

Braden Cabais had 12 digs and 12 assists, and Gil Lim had 16 digs for Liberty, which got eight digs from Kyle Kaleb.

Basic 3, Del Sol 2 — At Del Sol, Weston Crum had 20 kills, nine digs and five blocks, and Steven Stembridge recorded 21 assists and 10 digs as the Wolves outlasted the Dragons, 25-22, 29-31, 25-13, 23-25, 16-14.

Ian Cassasola had 12 kills, and Darin Klien dished out 15 assists for Basic.

Dennis Takahashi tallied 28 digs and 23 assists, Phillmon Teclom had 24 digs, and Jesse Brown added 22 digs for Del Sol.

Green Valley 3, Tech 0 — At Green Valley, Dimitri Santos had 10 assists, four aces and three kills, and James Byrne added seven kills, three aces and three blocks as the Gators swept the Roadrunners, 25-16, 25-12, 25-20.

Jake Johnson added 11 kills and three blocks for Green Valley.

Dalton Webb had 10 kills and two aces, and Adan Hernandez supplied five kills and three blocks for Tech.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Arbor View 1 — At Cimarron, Taylor Larsen had 19 assists and eight digs, and Braydon Egbert added  11 digs and seven kills to help the Spartans defeat the Aggies, 25-18, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23.

N.J. Makaiwi had 19 assists, and Kyle Henriksen had 18 kills for Cimarron, which got 15 digs from Devin Davis.

Richie Garness had 16 kills and 10 digs, and Chris Heron rang up 29 assists and six blocks for Arbor View. Blake Truman had 14 kills, and Brian Porter notched seven blocks for the Aggies.

Palo Verde 3, Centennial 1 — At Palo Verde, Andrew Weston distributed 26 assists to help lift the Panthers to a 25-19, 25-13, 22-25, 25-22 win over the Bulldogs.

Trent Gneiting recorded 18 kills and nine digs, and Jordyn Martin posted 11 digs, and 10 kills for Palo Verde.

Julian Lupo supplied 21 assists, and Dustin Buell had 11 kills to lead Centennial, which got 19 kills from Dane Hunsicker.

Shadow Ridge 3, Mojave 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Braden Taylor supplied 17 assists to help the Mustangs sweep the Rattlers, 25-18, 25-11, 25-10.

Cody Tesoro added 15 digs, and Quinn Skouson posted eight kills for Shadow Ridge.

Legacy 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, Justin Paquin had 17 kills, and Jared Cox added eight kills as the Longhorns swept the Desert Shields, 26-24, 25-17, 25-18.

Honorio Tovar-Garcia had 10 kills, and Vincent Aburto distributed seven assists for Cheyenne, which got seven digs from Deonte Perkins.
