ROUNDUP: Andrews, Foothill boys rally past Wildcats

Kendell Andrews had 24 kills and four aces, and Foothill’s boys volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to post a 20-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-19, 15-8 victory Tuesday at Las Vegas.

Caleb Hutchinson had 14 kills and seven blocks, and Raymond Buccat added 12 digs for the Falcons.

Shayne Marquez had 16 kills and 12 digs, and T.J. Esporsa supplied nine kills and 11 digs for the Wildcats, who got 11 kills from Brian Singson.

Coronado 3, Silverado 1 — At Silverado, Tyler Cucullu had 15 kills, 20 digs, two blocks and two aces, and Matt Pettit added 16 kills and 14 digs to help the Cougars to a 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21 win over the Skyhawks in a rematch of last season’s Class 4A state final.

Max Osmundson had 13 kills, and Connor Stephenson dished out 52 assists for Coronado, which also got 21 digs from Coltin Romney.

Curtis Hadland had 17 kills and 10 digs, and Shawn Steckel added 36 assists for Silverado.

Shadow Ridge 3, Centennial 2 — At Centennial, Jalen Makaiwi had 43 assists to help the Mustangs rally for a 10-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23, 18-16 win over the Bulldogs.

Richard Sterling had 21 kills and two aces, and Aric Kraft added eight kills for Shadow Ridge.

Chet Durkin had 50 assists and three aces, and Hunter Stratton supplied 23 kills and three aces for Centennial, which also got 18 digs and three aces from Connor Morris.

Basic 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Taylor Dyer dished out 22 assists, and Darin Klein finished with 10 kills as the Wolves swept the Jaguars, 25-15, 25-21, 25-9.

Dylan Green added 10 blocks for Basic.

Jose Meza had 14 digs and two aces for Desert Pines.

Bonanza 3, Sierra Vista 1 — At Sierra Vista, Kellen Layne recorded 11 kills and three aces to lead the Bengals past the Mountain Lions, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 29-27.

Ryan Clow had eight kills, and Josh Lee finished with 29 assists and three aces for Bonanza.

Tyler Hollings led Sierra Vista with 10 kills. Julius Sison had 22 digs and Tylor Sullivan added 26 assists.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Clark 0 — At Cimarron, Taylor Larsen finished with 25 assists, and Salvador Garcia had 12 kills and three aces as the Spartans swept the Chargers, 25-8, 25-14, 26-24.

Kyle Henriksen had 10 kills and two blocks, and Efrain Ambriz added seven kills for Cimarron.

Raydel Perez had 11 kills for Clark.

Mojave 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Christian Limtiaco supplied 11 kills, 15 digs and five blocks, and Darryl Miller-Green added 11 kills and 10 blocks as the Rattlers beat the Trailblazers, 25-15, 25-19, 25-20.

Duane McCarthy registered seven kills and two blocks for Mojave.

Rontraye Rainey had five kills and five blocks, and Michael Diggins added four kills for Durango.

Tech 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Tech, Josh Wood compiled 17 assists, two kills, three aces and three digs, and Tyler Gardenhire tallied eight kills, three aces and three blocks as the Roadrunners swept the Pioneers, 25-13, 25-13, 25-15.

Miguel Garcia had six digs, four blocks and two kills, and Omar Mena added eight kills and three blocks for Tech.

Carl Esteban had 16 assists, five digs and two aces, and Jose Piedra supplied seven digs and six kills for Canyon Springs.

Valley 3, Desert Oasis 2 — At Valley, Sean Carter recorded 41 assists, seven digs, four kills and four aces, and Jack Heavey supplied 21 kills, 13 digs and three blocks as the Vikings rallied to beat the Diamondbacks, 25-21, 32-34, 25-13, 20-25, 15-12.

Lorenzo Capannolo added 18 kills and eight digs for Valley, which rallied from being down 7-1 in the fifth game.

Rancho 3, Spring Valley 2 — At Rancho, Darnel Gorme had 10 kills, 10 digs and eight aces, and Aaron Robles dished out 43 assists to help the Rams outlast the Grizzlies, 25-19, 23-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-11.

Jef Rebibes had 17 kills and seven digs, and Montef Hargrove added eight kills and two blocks for Rancho.

James Nunez had 20 assists and two digs, and Jim Tran supplied 12 kills and two digs for Spring Valley. Wayne Luk had 10 digs, and Donald Keith added nine kills and four blocks for the Grizzlies.
