ROUNDUP: Beil helps Dragons outlast Foothill
Eric Beil had 12 kills and six digs Monday to help Del Sol’s boys volleyball team outlast host Foothill, 25-17, 25-18, 23-25, 19-25, 16-14.
James Johnson added 11 kills, and Zack Deittrick tallied 13 digs for Del Sol. Nick Maglaras dished out 42 assists for the Dragons.
F.J. Funtila led Foothill with 11 kills, four aces and three blocks. Joel Stoker supplied nine kills and four blocks, and Britain Rosenberg contributed 25 assists, five kills and three blocks for the Falcons.
Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Coronado, Bryan Arana had eight kills and seven digs to lead the Cougars to a 25-18, 25-12, 25-21 win over the Wolves.
Chris Andrulis added seven kills, and Hunter Chaney had 25 assists and four aces for Coronado.
Jordan Pils led Basic with 11 kills. Jarin Sillitoe added nine digs and Tanner Humphreys supplied eight for the Wolves.
Silverado 3, Green Valley 1 — At Silverado, Casey Hadland racked up 42 assists, eight digs and six kills as the Skyhawks topped the Gators, 25-18, 25-13, 22-25, 25-15.
Tiree Burton added eight kills and four blocks, and Rusty Santiago had 13 digs for the Skyhawks.
Nick Herrin passed out 25 assists for Green Valley. David Luce added nine kills and Beau Gronert had seven for the Gators.
Liberty 3, Tech 0 — At Liberty, Paul Acluba had 20 assists, and Brendon Reano had seven kills, three blocks and two aces to lead the Patriots past the Roadrunners, 25-9, 25-7, 25-22.
Carlos Monroy had seven kills and two blocks, and James Paras had three kills for Liberty.
Dalton Webb had four kills for Tech.
Shadow Ridge 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Joe Pearson recorded 10 kills and eight blocks to lead the Mustangs to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-13 win over the Spartans.
Brandon Fisher added four kills and 10 digs for Shadow Ridge.
Ares Manumaleuna paced the Spartans with six kills and eight digs. Brian Grupe added five kills and seven digs, and Braydon Egbert contributed 11 digs for Cimarron.
Palo Verde 3, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, Sean Wilson registered 26 assists, four digs and three blocks to lead the Panthers to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-9 sweep of Legacy.
Pat Morrisson added eight digs, and Trent Gneiting had eight kills, four digs and three aces for the Panthers.
Hector Bojado dished out 11 assists, and Billy Purcell supplied six kills, three blocks and three digs for the Longhorns.
Centennial 3, Arbor View 0 — At Arbor View, Leo Durkin dished out 34 assists as the Bulldogs swept the Aggies, 25-13, 25-18, 25-23.
McKay Holly supplied 10 kills, and Tyler Rogers and Dex Tidwell each added eight kills for Centennial.
Taylor Jones registered 16 assists for the Aggies.
Cheyenne 3, Mojave 0 — At Cheyenne, Irvin Leu had eight kills, three assists and three aces to lead the Desert Shields past Mojave, 25-17, 26-24, 30-28.
Casey Johansen added seven kills and five assists, and Nathan Pryor had four kills and four assists for Cheyenne.
James Noles dished out 20 assists for Mojave. Greg Guese added 12 digs, and Demarge Boyd had seven kills and four blocks for the Desert Shields.
