ROUNDUP: Canyon Springs edges Eldorado in boys volleyball

R.J. Estevez had 24 assists, six digs and three aces Wednesday to help visting Canyon Springs outlast Eldorado 25-13, 25-12, 20-25, 20-25, 15-11 in a boys volleyball match.

Garvin Tabancura added 23 digs for the Pioneers. Eduardo Contreras had 10 kills and John Padilla eight kills and 13 assists for Canyon Springs.

Trey PIctum led the Sundevils with 15 assists, 10 kills and five blocks. Jesse Whinery added 12 assists and six kills. Jordan Jefferson had five kills and Tone Gatewood five blocks and three kills for Eldorado.

Las Vegas 3, Chaparral 0 — At Las Vegas, Danny Farias dished out 28 assists to help the Wildcats to a 25-9, 25-14, 25-23 victory over Chaparral.

Braden Wilson and Aaron Hansen each added seven kills and Matt Hagen 12 digs for Las Vegas.

Desert Pines 3, Valley 1 — At Desert Pines, Dominique Lawrence had 15 kills, seven aces and five blocks as the Jaguars downed the Vikings, 25-8, 25-18, 18-25, 25-22.

Daniel Aguilar had 13 digs for Desert Pines, and Paul Bennett added eight blocks, seven kills and three aces.

Jim Videaux had 16 assists, three kills, two blocks and two aces for Valley. Gideon Tesfai added seven kills and Taylor Herrington six digs, five blocks and four kills.

Bonanza 3, Western 1 — At Western, Dustin Tippitts recorded 50 assists and four aces, and Andrew Whiting had 24 kills to help the Bengals beat the Warriors, 25-16, 25-19, 20-25, 25-15.

John Grady had 12 kills and five aces and Scott Davis 12 kills for Bonanza.

Deion Harrell led Western with 37 kills, and Brian Marshall added 43 assists.

Sierra Vista 3, Desert Oasis 1 — At Desert Oasis, Kohl Homeyer had 14 kills to lead the Mountain Lions to a 25-8, 25-16, 18-25, 25-14 win over the Diamondbacks.

Cody Seager added seven kills and Zach Waldron 19 assists for Sierra Vista.

Alex Trillo and Zach Bobenhausen each had three kills for Desert Oasis.

Shadow Ridge 3, Centennial 0 — At Centennial, Jeremy Makaiwi tallied 40 assists and Jake Shea 14 kills as the Mustangs beat the Bulldogs, 25-16, 25-17, 26-24.

Ryan Nolan had 12 kills and Joe Pearson 11 kills for Shadow Ridge.

Matt Kurtz led Centennial with seven kills and four aces, and Tyler Rogers added four kills.

Silverado 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Preston Clipper had nine kills and Christian Espina six digs and four aces as the Skyhawks beat the Roadrunners, 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.

Johnny Wyrick had nine kills and four blocks for Tech, and Eddie Lopez added 12 assists.
