Roundup: Christian Mixon leads Tech over Sunrise Mountain

Christian Mixon had six kills, and Eddy Garcia added five kills and an ace Monday as Tech’s boys volleyball team beat host Sunrise Mountain, 25-17, 25-17, 18-25, 25-23.

Ossian Makin added 18 assists, two kills and an ace for Tech.

Emerald Acasili led Sunrise Mountain with 12 kills, 16 digs and two aces.

Matt Glenn added six kills and four blocks for the Miners, and teammate Johnny Pedraza had 20 assists and 21 digs.

Palo Verde 3, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, Stephen Banks had 13 kills as the Panthers defeated the Longhorns, 25-14, 25-18, 25-14.

Palo Verde’s Cooper Jarman had 17 assists, Jared Brady had seven kills, and Dane Clawson had six kills.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Alex Olsen had 25 assists, four aces, and nine digs as the Spartans swept the Rams, 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.

Rancho’s Jesus Gonzalez had 19 assists and Brennan Berti had eight kills.

Desert Oasis 3, Liberty 1 — At Liberty, Liam Morrissey had 23 kills to lead the Diamondbacks over the Patriots, 14-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-21.

Desert Oasis’ Josh Bastin had 21 assists and nine digs, and teammate Tyler Sadama had 20 digs and four assists.

Martin Velasco had 55 assists to lead Liberty.

Pascual Chavez had 17 kills, Troy-Toese Fautanu had 12 kills, and Seth Monterde and Atapana Malele-Faaifo each had 14 digs for the Patriots.

Arbor View 3, Green Valley 0 — At Arbor View, Jaylen Harris had nine kills and five digs to lead the Aggies past the Gators, 25-12, 25-8, 25-16.

Gideon Belnap added eight kills and six digs, and teammate Jake Reid had five kills, three aces and five digs for Arbor View.

Ryan Schwartz had six digs for Green Valley.

Mojave 3, Western 0 — At Western, Daronde McKinney had 13 kills as the Rattlers rolled to a 25-9, 25-10, 25-12 win over the Warriors.

Tredall Blanchard-Davis added nine kills and seven aces, and teammate Nathaniel Arredondo had 20 assists.

Jason McCoy led Western with three kills and a block.

Cheyenne 3, Chaparral 0 — At Cheyenne, Brian Orellana had six kills, 15 assists, 10 digs and three aces to lead the Cowboys to a 25-19, 26-24, 25-22 victory over the Desert Shields.

Ryan Buchanan added six kills and four aces, and Ethan Cruz had 14 digs for Cheyenne.

Angel Porras led Chaparral with eight kills and two blocks.

Juan Benitez had 11 assists and three kills, and teammate Robert McGregor had six kills and five assists for the Cowboys.

Del Sol 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Del Sol, Alan Ramos-Flores had 17 assists, five kills, and three aces as the Dragons swept the Jaguars, 25-15, 25-13, 25-13.

Alejandro Marin had nine kills and three aces, and Tyrell Hampton had five kills for Del Sol.

Sky Pointe 3, Boulder City 1 — At Sky Pointe, Jaegen Driscoll had 27 kills to lead Sky Pointe over Boulder City, 25-14, 24-26, 25-22, 25-16.

Carson Driscoll had seven kills and 37 assists, Brayden Dorsey had six kills and two blocks, and Danny Cox had seven kills for Sky Pointe.

Preston Jorgensen had 29 kills for Boulder City. Boen Huxford had 11 kills and 32 assists, Karson Bailey had 12 kills, and Cameron Lemon had three kills and four blocks for the Eagles.
