ROUNDUP: Cougars roll past Bulldogs

Chris Austin had 25 kills and four aces to lead the Coronado boys volleyball team to a 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-4 home win over Centennial on Friday.

Hunter Chaney had 40 assists for the Cougars, Eric Boman had 18 kills and two aces, and Josh Dunkley added 18 digs and two aces.

Matt Kurtz led Centennial with 12 kills, Tyler Rodgers had five kills, and Cameron Olsen added seven digs.

Las Vegas 3, Basic 2 — At Basic, Danny Farias had 54 assists and 13 digs as the Wildcats outlasted the Wolves.

Aaron Hansen added 22 kills and 10 digs for Las Vegas. Chris Gbelay had 14 kills, and Braeden Wilson had 13 digs and nine kills.

Mike Lunen dished out 46 assists for Basic. Jordan Pils had 16 kills, nine digs and four blocks. Jensen Lavallee added 13 kills, seven digs and four blocks, and Austin Hafen chipped in eight kills and seven blocks.

Eldorado 3, Tech 2 — At Eldorado, Trey Pictum had 18 assists, four blocks and four kills and Tone Gatewood had seven kills, seven blocks and three aces to lead the Sundevils over the Roadrunners, 11-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 16-14.

Corey Harris logged 10 kills, four blocks and three aces for Eldorado, Jesse Whinery had 10 assists and four blocks, and Kaiden Shakespear had seven digs.

Eddie Lopez had 23 assists to lead Tech, Johnny Wyrick had 12 kills and three blocks, and Brandon Tiffany had 10 kills.

Western 3, Liberty 1 — At Western, Brian Marshall had 32 assists and Deion Harrell and Joe Gerideau each posted 11 kills to lead the Warriors over the Patriots, 25-19, 19-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Erick Pacheco had 13 digs for the Warriors.

Brendon Reano had 19 kills and James Paras had eight kills to lead Liberty.

Desert Pines 3, Legacy 0 — At Desert Pines, Dominique Lawrence had eight kills, six aces and five blocks to lead the Jaguars past the Longhorns, 25-19, 25-19, 25-17.

Michael Gibson added seven kills for Desert Pines.

Shadow Ridge 3, Del Sol 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Ryan Nolan had 13 kills and seven aces to help the Mustangs defeat the Dragons, 25-10, 25-17, 25-21.

Jake Shea added nine kills for Shadow Ridge, and teammate Jeremy Makaiwi had 26 assists.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Cimarron-Memorial, Scott Beckwith had 10 kills and five aces, Taylor Sorensen had 17 assists and three aces, and Matt Mortensen had six kills to lead the Spartans over the Gaels, 25-17, 25-16, 25-17.

Ben Carter had seven blocks and seven kills and Cameron Tom had 11 assists for Gorman.

Silverado 3, Spring Valley 0  — At Silverado, Rusty Santiago had 10 digs and Brayden Olenslager had eight kills to lead Silverado to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-17 win over the Grizzlies.

Spenser Blank had 15 digs and Thomas Ricca had seven kills for Spring Valley.

Rancho 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Kevin Wadsworth had 21 assists and seven aces to lead the Rams to a 25-7, 25-20, 25-9 win over the Diamondbacks.

Ryan Dennis had 10 kills and Kevin Plascencia eight digs and five kills for Rancho.

Desert Oasis’ Chris Mariani had two blocks.

Sierra Vista 3, Green Valley 1 — At Sierra Vista, the Mountain Lions battled back to defeat the Gators, 21-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-19.

Zach Waldron had 34 assists and Kohl Holmeyer and Marvi Sanchez each had 15 kills to lead Sierra Vista. Francisco Coleman added 15 digs.

Cameron Olsen had 16 kills, six aces and four blocks for Green Valley, Taylor Mitchell had 30 assists and four kills, and Taylor Stewart had five blocks and three kills.
