ROUNDUP: Henriksen, Spartans hold off Gorman in boys volleyball

Kyle Henriksen had 17 kills, and Salvador Garcia added 11 kills, three aces and 13 blocks as the Cimarron-Memorial boys volleyball team held off visiting Bishop Gorman 25-10, 25-21, 18-25, 14-25, 15-11 on Thursday in a Southwest League match.

Taylor Larsen supplied 31 assists, and Alex Lowell finished with 15 digs for the Spartans.

Amadeus Sowa led the Gaels with 23 kills and seven digs, and Tony Pitaro chipped in with 16 kills and six digs. Teammate Cody Tom had 37 assists and 15 digs.

Centennial 3, Bonanza 0 — At Bonanza, Blake Frischknecht finished with 16 kills, and Hunter Stratton added 11 kills and three aces as the Bulldogs swept the Bengals 25-17, 25-19, 25-17 in a Southwest League match.

Chet Durkin had 36 assists and had three aces for Centennial.

Kellen Layne led Bonanza with eight kills and five digs. Teammate Alec Taylor had three kills and 10 assists, and Adam Puckoris led the Bengals defense with 11 digs. 

Legacy 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Legacy, Tanner Compton had 16 kills, 19 digs and two blocks to lead the Longhorns to a 25-15, 25-17, 25-18 victory over the Diamondbacks in a Southwest League match.

Braden Liu had 32 assists and six digs, and Anthony Cabrera had 21 digs for Legacy. Treston Mendonsa and Jonah Tarlton each added five kills for the Longhorns.

Coronado 3, Basic 0 — At Coronado, Connor Stephenson had 27 assists, and Max Osmundson added 11 kills and eight digs as the Cougars topped the Wolves 25-14, 25-11, 25-8 in a Southeast League match.

Tyler Cucullu had eight kills and eight digs, and Matt Pettit added eight kills for Coronado, which got 16 digs from Coltin Romney.

Taylor Dyer had six assists, and Dylan Green added four blocks for Basic. 

Eldorado 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, David Tran had eight kills and seven digs, and Dakota Schultz added seven kills in the Sundevils’ 25-17, 25-9, 25-17 sweep of the Dragons in a Southeast League match.

Joey Barnhurst dished out 40 assists, and Michael Ahn had five blocks for Eldorado.

Javon Blount led Del Sol with six kills. Jesse Brown added six assists and two blocks, and La’akea Cabanas had three aces for the Dragons.

Desert Pines 3, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Bryan Garcia had 18 assists and 20 digs to help the Jaguars outlast the Desert Shields 29-27, 23-25, 25-18, 14-25, 15-9.

Jose Meza supplied 22 digs, and Joel Perez tallied three blocks and eight kills for Desert Pines.

Oscar Monzon had 19 assists, and Deonte Perkins finished with 18 kills and 11 digs to lead Cheyenne.

Chaparral 3, Western 0 — At Western, Pierce Morgan had 21 assists, two blocks and three aces to help the Cowboys to a 25-13, 25-18, 25-21 sweep of the Warriors in a Division I-A match.

Matt Sanger had 12 kills and two aces, and Rian De Los Reyes chipped in three kills and two blocks for Chaparral.

Vadell Wilson had eight kills and four blocks, and Derrick Rinfrow added seven kills and two blocks for Western. 

Clark 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Clark, Walter Regalado dished out 22 assists and served three aces to help the Chargers to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 win over the Miners in a Division I-A match.

Walt Benda had 12 kills and two aces, and Jeremy Bavers added seven kills and three blocks for Clark. 

Tech 3, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, Tyler Gardenhire had 11 kills, 10 digs and five locks as the Roadrunners rallied for a 19-25, 26-24, 24-26, 25-20, 15-13 win over the Rattlers in a Division I-A match.

Omar Mena added seven kills and four digs, and Miguel Garcia had six kills, three assists, four digs and four blocks for Tech.

Christian Limtiaco had 26 kills and 20 digs, and Darryl Miller-Green added 15 kills and five blocks for Mojave, which got 41 assists from Jovan Carrazco.
