Roundup: Liberty downs Legacy in 5 sets

Pascual Chavez had 18 kills, and Troy-Toese Fautanu had 16 kills to help Liberty’s boys volleyball team edge visiting Legacy 25-11, 20-25, 19-25, 26-24, 15-8 on Thursday.

Martin Velasco had 36 assists for the Patriots. Atapana Malele-Faaifo had 18 digs, and Seth Monterde had 12 digs for Liberty, which got six kills from Lehi Ausage.

Legacy’s Nathan Johnson had 12 kills and 18 digs, and Creed Laws had seven kills and six digs.

Richard Steacy had nine kills, Reynold Tuileata had eight kills, and Davick Clark had six kills for the Longhorns.

Shadow Ridge 3, Coronado 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Derek Robnett had eight kills, three aces and six digs to lead the Mustangs past the Cougars, 25-18, 28-26, 25-19.

Jordan Kirk had eight kills and two blocks, Jake Hoadley had 12 digs, and Justin Ahlstrom dished out 22 assists for Shadow Ridge.

Ben Bloss had 12 kills and five digs to lead Coronado.

Matt Wilson had 23 assists, and Alex Winiarczyk had six kills and 10 digs for the Cougars.

Green Valley 3, Bonanza 1 — At Bonanza, Tanner Webb notched eight blocks and four kills in the Gators’ 27-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21 win over the Bengals.

Zachary Fedarko added eight kills for Green Valley.

James Mead led Bonanza with 24 assists, and Mark Thuet supplied 12 kills and nine blocks for the Bengals.

Chaparral 3, Western 0 — At Chaparral, Robert McGregor had five kills, seven assists and four aces as the Cowboys beat the Warriors, 25-4, 25-15, 26-24.

Juan Benitez added five kills and eight assists for Chaparral.

Jason McCoy led Western with five kills and three aces, and teammate Julio Gamet had two kills and 10 assists.

Rancho 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Brennan Berti had 13 kills to help the Rams sweep the Mountain Lions, 25-14, 25-20, 25-21.

Jesus Gonzalez had 26 assists for Rancho, which got eight kills from Adali Rodriguez.

Bronson Tomas had 25 assists, four digs, two aces and a kill for the Mountain Lions, and teammate Trenton Morss had 11 digs and an ace.

Palo Verde 3, Las Vegas 0 — At Palo Verde, Luke Johnston had 19 assists, and teammate Cooper Jarman added 18 assists in the Panthers’ 25-22, 25-23, 25-20 sweep of the Wildcats.

Jared Brady put down 10 kills, and Andrew Tingey supplied seven kills for Palo Verde.

Shaun Kampshoff had 14 kills, Ashton Barney notched 12 digs, and Kevin Sweitzer contributed 10 assists to pace Las Vegas.

Cheyenne 3, Tech 1 — At Tech, Brian Orelloana had 25 assists and four aces as the Desert Shields took down the Roadrunners, 17-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.

Albert Gramajo and Anthony Walker each had six kills for Cheyenne.

Pierce Zaman had six kills and four digs for the Roadrunners, and teammate Christian Mixon had three kills and five blocks.

Durango 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Tim Kedrowski supplied nine digs, seven assists and five kills to power the Trailblazers to a 25-10, 25-15, 25-14 sweep of the Chargers.

Braetin Foster had 11 digs and four aces, and teammate Tai Foster notched seven digs and five kills for Durango.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Anthony Proby-Jenson had seven kills to lead the Miners in a sweep of the Jaguars, 25-5, 25-14, 25-21.

Johnny Pedraza had 13 assists and seven digs, and Elijah Bright had two assists and 19 digs for Sunrise Mountain.

Mojave 3, Sky Pointe 1 — At Mojave, T.J. Blanchard had 10 kills and eight digs as the Rattlers beat the Eagles, 15-25, 25-21, 25-9, 29-27.

Daronde McKinney added nine kills and seven digs, and Nathaniel Arredondo had 23 assists and three aces for Mojave. Michael Jones added 22 digs and four aces for the Rattlers.

Carson Driscoll led Sky Pointe with 30 assists, and Jaegen Driscoll put down 22 kills for the Eagles.
