ROUNDUP: Miranda helps Mountain Lions to five-game win at Durango
Preston Miranda dished out 44 assists Tuesday as Sierra Vista’s volleyball team outlasted host Durango, 25-21, 25-15, 20-25, 19-25, 15-6.
Cody Seeger added 18 kills, five blocks and five digs for the Mountain Lions, who started the deciding game on a 12-2 run.
Mark Brautigam had nine kills, six digs and two aces for Durango, and teammate Jared Parker posted six blocks.
Bonanza 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Bonanza, Cru Leavitt tallied 16 assists, and Jason Bedford added eight kills as the Bengals beat the Diamondbacks 25-12, 25-18, 25-14.
Parker Evans added four blocks for Bonanza.
Trevor Zaruian had eight assists and Zack Bobenhausen tallied five kills for Desert Oasis.
Spring Valley 3, Western 0 — At Western, Jayvin Garcia spiked 17 kills, and Dallas Teshima dished out 35 assists to help the Grizzlies to a 25-19, 25-14, 25-11 sweep of the Warriors.
Khoa Nguyen and Kyle Christiansen each put up eight kills for Spring Valley.
Valley 3, Chaparral 0 — At Valley, Carl Ajuziem had 23 assists and three kills, and Marco Cardona supplied eight digs and five assists to help the Vikings past the Cowboys 25-16, 25-12, 25-12.
Julio Fierro had eight kills and Lawrence Palmer added seven for Valley.
Las Vegas 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Tyler Crawford had 15 assists and five aces, and Tyler Wilson added seven digs and four kills as the Wildcats swept the Miners, 25-7, 25-5, 25-16.
Rancho 3, Canyon Springs 0— At Rancho, Antonio Boucher talllied six kills, 10 digs and three aces as the Rams swept Canyon Springs 25-9, 25-13, 25-14.
David Silva produced six aces and seven kills, and Kamran Baig added 15 assists for Rancho.
Desert Pines 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Dominique Lawrence had 13 kills and two blocks to help Desert Pines to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-14 sweep of the Sundevils.
Daniel Aguilar added nine digs and four aces, and Dalton Leilua dished out 16 assists for the Jaguars.
