ROUNDUP: Miranda moves Mountain Lions into three-way tie for Southwest’s second

Preston Miranda racked up 23 assists, four aces, three kills and three blocks Monday to help Sierra Vista’s boys volleyball team move into a three-way tie for second place in the Southwest League with a 25-20, 17-25, 25-22, 25-20 win at Spring Valley,
Khrumm Fahim added 12 kills, six blocks and four digs for the Mountain Lions (8-9, 8-5 Southwest).
Ron DeLosSantos had seven kills and eight digs, and Garrett Clifton supplied seven kills for Sierra Vista.
Dallas Teshima led Spring Valley with 23 assists and three aces. Blake Ringer added 16 kills, and Parker Slade contributed seven kills for the Grizzlies.
Sierra Vista, Spring Valley and Clark all sit at 8-5 in league play with one match remaining. Desert Oasis is fifth in the league at 7-6.
Bonanza 3, Clark 1 — At Bonanza, Parker Evans had 23 kills, and teammate Craig Whiting added 43 assists as the Bengals downed the Chargers, 25-17, 20-25, 25-19, 25-16.
Cru Leavitt supplied 13 kills, and Jared Hyer had 10 kills for Bonanza.
David Samson paced Clark with 31 assists and three blocks. George Huang contributed 16 kills, and Joseph Wang added nine kills for the Chargers.
Desert Oasis 3, Durango 0 — At Desert Oasis, Trevor Zarvian had 39 assists, and teammate Danny Eslinger added 23 digs as the Diamondbacks swept the Trailblazers, 25-20, 25-11, 26-24.
Zach Bobenhausen added 11 kills, and Alex Trillo had 10 kills and three digs for Desert Oasis.
Josh Maury paced Durango with seven kills and nine digs, and teammate Caleb Snook added 13 assists and four blocks.
Bishop Gorman 3, Western 1 — At Western, Bobby Houser put down 22 kills, and Cameron Tom distributed 37 assists as the Gaels topped the Warriors, 25-22, 25-12, 17-25, 25-19.
Matt Lychock added seven kills for Gorman.
Matthew Lewis had 13 kills and four blocks for Western. Aaron Buckley added nine kills and two aces, and Nash McIntosh had 19 assists for the Warriors, who got eight kills from Ryan Vaughn.
Las Vegas 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Las Vegas High, Luke Hansen had 15 assists, seven kills and two aces as the Wildcats secured the Northeast League regular-season crown with a 25-8, 25-11, 25-12 rout of the Jaguars.
Garrett Jones had 16 digs and six kills for the Wildcats, who improved to 13-0 in league play.
Jimichael Baker added eight kills, and Tyler Crawford supplied five digs, five aces and four kills for Las Vegas.
Tui Poutasi had eight digs, and Trevor Krystek contributed three blocks for Desert Pines.
Rancho 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Nathan Campo had 11 assists, and R’Mond Hill had seven kills in the Rams’ 25-15, 25-11, 25-13 sweep of the Cowboys.
Kendall Reynolds added seven assists, and Kyle Stankosky served four aces for Rancho.
Valley 3, Canyon Springs 1 — At Valley, Peter Nunes had 33 assists and two blocks to help the Vikings defeat the Pioneers, 16-25, 25-18, 25-14, 27-25.
Mauricio Molina added 15 digs, and Lawrence Palma and Ignacio Diaz each had 11 kills for Valley, which got nine kills and five digs from Matt Ballaro.
Jon Duhaylungsod had 32 assists for Canyon Springs. Ivan Nafarrete had 13 digs, and Adam Tuala added 12 kills for the Pioneers.
Sunrise Mountain 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, the Miners posted a 25-20, 25-10, 25-17 sweep of the Sundevils.
