ROUNDUP: Mustangs rally to top Palo Verde, secure Northwest’s top playoff seed

Braden Taylor had 25 assists, 13 digs and eight kills, and Tanner Maxwell added 25 kills Thursday to help Shadow Ridge’s boys volleyball team wrap up the Northwest League’s top seed for the Sunset Region playoffs with a 24-26, 18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-11 victory over visiting Palo Verde.

Cody Tesoro had 45 digs, and Brandon Fisher supplied 15 kills for the Mustangs.

Andrew Weston distributed 43 assists, and Jordyn Martin had 21 kills and seven digs for Palo Verde, which got 20 kills and six digs from Trent Gneiting.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Legacy 2 — At Legacy, Braydon Egbert recorded 14 kills and 14 digs as the Spartans outlasted the Longhorns, 25-17, 21-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-7.

Kyle Henriksen added nine blocks and five aces for Cimarron.

Justin Paquin led Legacy with 15 kills, four blocks and six digs, and teammate Jared Cox supplied eight kills and six blocks.

Silverado 3, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Dakota Relle had 36 assists, and Kyle Divicino added 16 kills to help the Skyhawks down the Dragons, 25-6, 25-20, 22-25, 25-8.

Phillmon Teclom dished out 26 digs, and Deavon Holcomb notched five kills to lead Del Sol.

Coronado 3, Green Valley 0  — At Coronado, Connor Stephenson tallied 35 assists and five blocks, and Brandon Dau supplied 13 kills and two aces to lead the Cougars to a 25-16, 25-13, 25-18 win over the Gators.

Jacob Pankey added eight kills, four blocks and two aces, and Austin Moiseyev had five kills, four aces and three blocks for Coronado.

Dimitri Santos distributed 13 assists, and James Byrne had six kills for Green Valley.

Arbor View 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Arbor View, Chris Heron had 15 assists and three aces, and Darien Bradley added 14 digs and three kills to lead the Aggies to a 25-12, 25-13, 25-7 sweep of the Desert Shields.

Terrell Butler and Brian Porter each added four kills and two blocks for Arbor View.

Abel Rodriguez had six assists, and Naenoa George had three kills, three digs and three blocks for Cheyenne, which got five kills and four digs from Deonte Perkins.

Basic 3, Liberty 0 — At Basic, Weston Crum had 12 kills and seven digs, and Steven Stembridge added 13 assists as the Wolves swept the Patriots, 25-18, 25-23, 25-23.

Sean Michael Medina added eight digs for Basic.

Branden Cabais led Liberty with 28 assists and seven digs, and teammate Kai Nacua supplied 11 kills and three blocks.

Centennial 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Chet Dirkin had 28 assists as the Bulldogs swept the Rattlers, 25-11, 25-9, 25-17.

Tanner Bonds added 11 kills, and Cameron Hanselman had five kills for Centennial.
