ROUNDUP: Rainey, Trailblazers block Jaguars’ comeback bid

Rontraye Rainey recorded 14 blocks, and Pedro Adrego had 14 digs Thursday to help Durango’s boys volleyball team outlast host Desert Pines, 25-17, 25-22, 15-25, 18-25, 19-17.

Dex Alston had 21 assists, and Preston Scott added nine kills for Durango.

Julian Jacobs paced Desert Pines with 16 kills, and teammate Trevor Krystek added 14 kills, four blocks and three aces. Justin Ngarmnet had 21 assists for the Jaguars, who got 22 digs from Bryan Garcia.

Chaparral 3, Western 2 — At Western, Saiquan Charingto had 19 kills and three blocks to help the Cowboys rally for a 20-25, 16-25, 25-12, 25-17, 15-11 win over the Warriors.

Jesus Botello had 12 digs and five aces for Chaparral, and Pierce Morgan had 31 assists.

Vadell Wilson led Western with 14 kills, six blocks and four aces. U.L. Jamerson tallied 11 assists and two aces for Western, which got seven kills and five blocks from Reese Tillmond.

Coronado 3, Rancho 0 — At Coronado, Connor Stephenson had 21 assists, nine digs, six aces and three blocks to help the Cougars sweep the Rams, 25-16, 25-23, 26-24.

Brandon Dau had 12 kills, and Matt Pettit added five kills for Coronado.

Guillermo Silva paced Rancho with 12 kills. Nathan Campo added nine digs, and R’Mond Hill had eight kills for the Rams.

Canyon Springs 3, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, Jon Jason Duhaylungsod had 30 assists, and teammate Adam Tuala recorded 18 kills as the Pioneers outdueled the Rattlers, 25-15, 25-20, 23-25, 25-14.

Christian Lintiaco led Mojave with 10 assists and five blocks, and teammate David James added four digs and three blocks.

Las Vegas 3, Arbor View 1 — At Las Vegas, Evany Davis distrubuted 50 assists, and Garrett Jones added 17 kills and 23 digs as the Wildcats downed the Aggies, 25-27, 25-19, 25-20, 25-14.

Jace Turner supplied 13 kills and 11 digs for Las Vegas.

Richie Garness led Arbor View with 42 assists and eight kills. Darrell Swanson had 14 kills and 18 digs, and Blake Truman had 12 kills for the Aggies.

Valley 3, Clark 0 — At Valley, Peter Nunes had 21 assists and two kills as the Vikings swept the Chargers, 25-21, 25-12, 25-23.

Ignacio Diaz had seven aces, six kills and three blocks, and Matt Ballaro added six kills and three aces for Valley.

Foothill 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Foothill, Clancey Gillies dished out 38 assists to help the Falcons to a 25-16, 25-14, 25-21 sweep of the Diamondbacks.

Kendall Andrews added 12 kills and five digs, and Ray Buccat supplied nine kills and three digs for Foothill.

Austen Becker led Desert Oasis with 13 assists, two kills and three digs. Alex Trillo added nine digs and six kills for the Diamondbacks, who got four kills from Tanner Dupree.
