ROUNDUP: Ringer, Grizzlies hold off host Gaels
Blake Ringer had 20 kills and four aces to lead Spring Valley’s boys volleyball team to a 25-20, 21-25, 22-25, 26-24, 16-14 road victory over Bishop Gorman on Tuesday.
Dallas Teshima added 15 assists, and Seth McGinn tallied four kills for the Grizzlies.
Bobby Houser led Gorman with 31 kills, and Cameron Tom added 41 assists for the Gaels.
Bonanza 3, Western 0 — At Bonanza, Craig Whiting distributed 30 assists to help Bonanza sweep Western, 25-15, 25-14, 25-11.
Price Jarman added 12 kills and nine blocks, and Cru Leavitt had nine kills and four blocks for the Bengals.
Matthew Lewis had four kills and two blocks, and Nash McIntosh added 11 assists for the Warriors, who got seven kills from Ryan Vaughn.
Clark 3, Durango 0 — At Clark, David Samson had 30 assists, seven kills and six aces as the Chargers downed the Trailblazers, 25-14, 25-21, 25-18.
Joe Wang added seven kills and three aces, and Whistly Ng had 13 digs for Clark.
Caleb Snook dished out 11 assists, and Dex Alston added 11 digs for Durango.
Canyon Springs 3, Eldorado 0 — At Canyon Springs, Jon Duhaylungsod distributed 29 assists, and James Harris added 11 kills as the Pioneers rolled the Sundevils, 25-13, 25-10, 25-9.
Adam Tuala supplied six aces and 10 kills, and Immanuel Tufuga had six kills and four blocks for Canyon Springs.
Las Vegas 3, Chaparral 0 — At Las Vegas High, Luke Hansen had six kills and 10 assists as the Wildcats swept the Cowboys, 25-5, 25-3, 25-14.
Levi Mackelprang added seven digs and three aces, and Aldheir Diaz contributed 13 assists and six digs for Las Vegas.
Rancho 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Guillermo Silva had nine kills and 11 digs, and teammate Nathan Campo supplied 23 assists and two aces as the Rams swept the Miners, 25-23, 25-19, 25-9.
Kyle Stankosky added eight kills and eight digs, and R’Mond Hill supplied nine kills and two aces for Rancho.
Alex Benitez had seven kills, and Cody Trapp added four kills for Sunrise Mountain.
Valley 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Valley, Ignacio Diaz had 16 kills and nine digs to lead the Vikings to a 25-16, 25-13, 25-15 victory over the Jaguars.
Matthew Ballaro added eight kills and three digs, and Peter Nunes contributed 32 assists, seven digs and four aces for Valley.
Tony Savea led Desert Pines with nine assists and two blocks. Tui Poutasi added 10 digs for the Jaguars.
