ROUNDUP: Shadow Ridge fends off Palo Verde
Jeremy Makaiwi dished out 53 assists Thursday to help Shadow Ridge’s boys volleyball team remain undefeated with a 25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21 win over visiting Palo Verde.
Jake Shea added 17 kills and seven blocks for the Mustangs, who moved to 12-0 overall. Ryan Nolan had 15 kills and seven blocks and Greg Smith 12 kills for Shadow Ridge.
Matt Lish led Palo Verde with 29 assists. Nick Hipwell had 12 kills for the Panthers. Tyler Capko added 12 digs and Shaun Carroll eight kills for Palo Verde.
Centennial 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Matt Kurtz tallied nine kills for the Bulldogs in their 25-8, 25-6, 25-12 win over the Rattlers.
Leo Dirken had six aces, McKay Holly four kills and Kyle Moody three aces and two kills for Centennial.
Arbor View 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Arbor View, Taylor Jones dished out 30 assists for the Aggies in their 25-15, 25-10, 25-9 win over the Desert Shields.
Landon Steele tallied eight aces and Ray Lewis five digs for Arbor View.
Ervin Leu had four kills for Cheyenne.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Taylor Sorensen had 23 assists, two aces and two kills to lead the Spartans to a 25-12, 25-16, 25-14 win over the Longhorns.
Scott Beckwith added eight aces and six kills for Cimarron, and teammate Matt Timentel had five kills and four digs.
Ben Noel had 11 assists and Ethan Ewing seven kills for Legacy.
Coronado 3, Tech 0 — At Coronado, Kevin Foutz dished out 24 assists and tallied six aces for the Cougars in their 25-13, 25-9, 25-13 win over the Roadrunners.
Kekoa Piena tallied eight kills and five digs and Brian Davis six digs and four kills for Coronado.
Basic 3, Foothill 1 — At Basic, Jordan Pils tallied 15 kills for the Wolves in their 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21 win over the Falcons.
Mike Lunen had 37 assists and two blocks, Jenson Lavallee 14 kills and five digs and Austin Hafen seven kills and three blocks for Basic.
Cody Clay had 22 kills and 10 digs for Foothill.
Green Valley 3, Del Sol 0 — At Green Valley, Cameron Olsen tallied 13 kills and two aces for the Gators in their 25-11, 25-13, 25-12 win over the Dragons.
Green Valley’s Taylor Mitchell dished out 23 assists. Taylor Stewart tallied eight kills and Tyler Owen four aces and two kills for the Gators.
Silverado 3, Liberty 0 — At Silverado, Jordan Royal had seven kills and two aces for the Skyhawks in their 25-6, 25-18, 25-8 win over the Patriots.
Brian Theopil tallied seven digs and six aces and Lionel Miranda six digs for Silverado.
