ROUNDUP: Shea, Zimmerman rally Gaels past Diamondbacks

Chris Shea had 35 assists and seven digs, and Stephen Zimmerman added 15 kills and five blocks Thursday to help Bishop Gorman’s boys volleyball team rally for a 14-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-11 win at Desert Oasis.

Jason Han supplied 20 digs and two assists for the Gaels.

Alex Trillo led the Diamondbacks with 31 assists, 14 digs, eight kills and two blocks. Tanner Dupree added nine kills, and Kwade Huff had four kills and four blocks for Desert Oasis.

Chaparral 3, Eldorado 1 — At Chaparral, Meldrick Nava put down six kills, and Rian De Los Reyes had four kills as the Cowboys downed the Sundevils, 25-20, 25-21, 16-25, 25-21.

Jacob Hollingsworth posted 20 kills and 19 blocks, and David Tran tallied 15 kills and 10 digs for Eldorado, which got 27 assists from Joey Barnhurst.

Las Vegas 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Las Vegas High, Evany Diaz logged 30 assists, four digs and eight aces as the Wildcats swept the Pioneers, 25-13, 25-14, 25-23.

Garrett Jones added 10 kills and seven digs for Las Vegas, which got six kills and four blocks from Jace Turner.

James Harris led Canyon Springs with six blocks and eight kills, and teammate Jon Jason Duhaylungsod dished out 14 assists.

Spring Valley 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, DeShaun Nowlin racked up 20 kills and 26 digs to lead the Grizzlies past the Trailblazers.

Jim Tran dished out 29 assists, and Donald Keith provided 15 kills and seven blocks for Spring Valley, which got 26 digs from Wayne Luk.

Caleb Snook distributed 25 assists for Durango. Paris Estrada had 12 kills and eight blocks, and Daniel Bernard added 14 digs and eight kills for the Trailblazers, who got 15 digs from Dex Alston.

Rancho 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Rancho, R’mond Hill had 13 kills and four blocks, and Guillermo Silva supplied 11 kills and three aces as the Rams downed the Jaguars, 25-8, 25-16, 25-19.

Kendall Reynolds distributed 34 assists for Rancho.

Julian Jacobs had 11 kills, 11 digs and two blocks for Desert Pines, and teammate Trevor Krystek added 15 assists.

Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Valley, Peter Nunes logged 30 assists, three kills and four digs as the Vikings swept the Miners, 25-19, 25-9, 25-18.

Jack Heavey added 14 kills, nine digs and three aces for Valley. Matt Ballaro had 11 kills and five digs, and Lorenzo Capannolo provided seven kills and three aces for the Vikings.

Clark 3, Western 0 — At Clark, Taeg Williams dished out 28 assists as the Warriors blanked the Chargers, 25-18, 25-22, 28-26.

Vadell Wilson and Reese Tillmond each had 11 blocks to lead Western.
