ROUNDUP: Sierra Vista breezes past Spring Valley

Zach Waldron dished out 23 assists and Preston Miranda had 11 assists Monday to lead host Sierra Vista’s boys volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-18, 25-19 win over Spring Valley.

Kohl Homeyer had nine kills and two digs for the Mountain Lions. Marvi Sanchez added nine kills for Sierra Vista, which improved to 7-1 overall and stayed tied for first place with Bonanza in the Southwest League.

Bonanza 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Dustin Tippitts posted 29 assists to help the Bengals to a 25-10, 25-18, 25-17 victory over Clark.

John Grady added 20 kills and Mike Hartmann had 20 digs for Clark.

Durango 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Thor Jalleco had 16 assists to lead the Trailblazers to a 25-12, 25-7, 25-15 win over the Diamondbacks.

Mark Brautigam added seven kills for Durango.

Trevor Zarvian had two aces for Desert Oasis.

Las Vegas 3, Valley 0 — At Valley, Danny Farias had 31 assists, 10 digs and three aces as Las Vegas beat Valley, 25-17, 25-17, 25-21.

Jordan Hamilton added 10 kills and four blocks for the Wildcats. Braedon Wilson and Aaron Hansen each had eight kills and six digs.

Jim Videaux led Valley with 16 assists and four kills. Alonzo Blount added nine kills for the Vikings.

Desert Pines 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Desert Pines improved to 8-1 overall with a 25-21, 25-18, 25-19 win over the Cowboys.

Carlos Chandia had seven assists and four kills for the Cowboys. DeAndre Marshall added four kills, four blocks and three digs. Wayne To’o had three kills and three assists.

Rancho 3, Eldorado 0 — At Rancho, Antonio Boucher had 13 digs and 11 kills to lead the Rams to a 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 win over the Sundevils.

Rancho’s Kevin Plascencia had five aces and seven kills, and teammate Kevin Wadsworth had 20 assists and five aces.
