Roundup: Sierra Vista gets by Bonanza in five sets

Frank Hines had 10 kills, four aces, 11 digs and three blocks as Sierra Vista’s boys volleyball team rallied past Bonanza for a 25-21, 11-25, 20-25, 25-16, 18-16 road win Thursday night.

Trenton Morss served two aces and had 15 digs, and Bronson Tomas dished out 37 assists for the Mountain Lions.

Mark Thuet had 20 kills and six digs to lead the Bengals.

Kadin Warner had 18 kills, Jason Owens had three kills, four aces, four digs and five blocks, and James Mead added 30 assists, five aces and eight digs for the Bengals.

Durango 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Tai Foster supplied 33 digs, 12 kills and four aces as the Trailblazers defeated the Grizzlies, 25-19, 25-12, 25-21.

Tim Kedrowski contributed 11 assists, six digs and five kills, and Braetin Foster added 25 digs for Durango.

Danny Carbajal-Sandoval had 11 digs, and Anthony Dodson tallied seven kills to lead Spring Valley.

Centennial 3, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Gorman, Justin Madsen had eight kills and five digs as the Bulldogs rolled to a 25-15, 25-15, 25-9 win over the Gaels.

Tyler Godown had seven kills and five blocks, and Stephen Hitchcock recorded 18 digs for Centennial, which got five kills from Cole Kahle.

Palo Verde 3, Clark 0 — At Palo Verde, Jared Brady notched eight kills and eight aces to help lead the Panthers to a 25-10, 25-14, 25-17 sweep of the Chargers.

Luke Johnston had 11 assists, and Cooper Jarman added nine assists for Palo Verde.

Nicko Babilonia put down five kills to lead Clark.

Arbor View 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Arbor View, Gideon Belnap had 11 kills, three aces and 11 digs to lead the Aggies past the Diamondbacks, 25-18, 25-9, 25-10.

Jaylen Harris had eight kills and for digs, Tyler Worthington had three aces and 21 digs, and Sam Belnap added 30 assists and six digs for the Aggies.

Liberty 3, Chaparral 0 — At Liberty, Martin Velasco dished out 28 assists, and teammate Sefania Mamea added 25 assists to power the Patriots to a 25-17, 25-16, 25-21 sweep of the Cowboys.

Troy-Toese Fautanu provided nine blocks and eight kills for Liberty. Seth Monterde supplied eight digs, and Maximus Parke notched eight kills for the Patriots.

Juan Benitez paced Chaparral with 11 kills and seven assists, and Robert McGregor had 12 assists for the Cowboys.

Cimarron-Memorial 3, Legacy 0 — At Cimarron, Alex Olson had 23 assists to help the Spartans to a 25-23, 25-16, 25-17 sweep of the Longhorns.

Johnathan Mika had 22 digs, and Jameson Valencia supplied six kills for Cimarron.

Shadow Ridge 3, Silverado 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Ashton Leavitt had 10 kills, and Tyson Mott had nine kills, four digs and two blocks as the Mustangs beat the Skyhawks, 25-12, 25-17, 29-27.

Justin Ahlstrom added 24 assists and four digs, and Jake Hoadley had 17 digs for Shadow Ridge.

Tyler Olson had six kills, and Bravyn Aquino had four blocks to lead Silverado, which got seven digs from Dillon Marshall.

Rancho 3, Western 0 — At Rancho, Brennan Berti had 11 kills as the Rams earned a 25-2, 25-22, 25-10 win over Western.

Kenny Oak added seven kills, and Jesus Gonzalez had 12 assists for Rancho.

Basic 3, Boulder City 0 — At Basic, Trevor Robbins had 11 kills and five aces in a 25-12, 25-16, 25-14 victory over the Eagles.

Dallas Green had three blocks for the Wolves, and Zachary Miller added 25 assists.
