ROUNDUP: Sierra Vista rolls along, sweeps Gorman
Zach Waldron dished out 34 assists Wednesday to help Sierra Vista stay unbeaten in the Southwest League with a 25-18, 25-11, 25-20 win at Bishop Gorman.
Kohl Homeyer added 14 kills and Marvi Sanchez 13 for the Mountain Lions (15-2, 11-0).
Cameron Tom had 18 assists and Bobby Houser 14 kills for the Gaels (7-7, 7-3).
Bonanza 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Bonanza, the Bengals used 30 aces to power to a 25-10, 25-9, 25-11 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Mike Hartmann had 22 assists and 15 aces for Bonanza, Price Jarman added 10 kills, and Kenny Desoto supplied 14 digs.
Durango 3, Clark 1 — At Durango, Dustin Ybarra’s 23 digs helped the Trailblazers to a 21-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-19 win over the Chargers.
Gary House added 11 kills and Chase Jackson 35 assists for Durango.
Johhny Phane led Clark with eight kills, Chris Herriksen had six kills, and Joshuwa Baugus registered five blocks.
Shadow Ridge 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Joe Pearson had seven kills and five digs to lead the Mustangs to a 25-7, 25-6, 25-11 road victory over the Rattlers.
Quinn Skouson added eight kills and Zach Juilff had seven for Shadow Ridge.
Cheyenne 3, Legacy 2 — At Legacy, Brandon Jackson had 10 kills and six aces to help the Desert Shields to a 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 17-25, 15-13 victory over the Longhorns.
Neil Larson added 13 assists and Ervin Leu had four kills and four aces for Cheyenne.
Ben Noel led Legacy with 38 assists and 10 aces.
Centennial 3, Palo Verde 1— At Centennial, Jeff Mecham had 38 assists, and Drew Staker had 16 kills and six blocks as the Bulldogs beat the Panthers, 25-22, 25-16, 21-25, 25-23.
Blake Davdison supplied nine kills and four blocks and Tyler McAninch had 10 kills for Centennial.
Matthew Lish had 38 assists and seven kills and Tyler Capko logged 18 kills for Palo Verde.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Arbor View 0 — At Arbor View, Taylor Sorenson dished out 32 assists to help the Spartans to a 25-13, 25-21, 25-23 win over the Aggies.
Cimarron’s Triton Manumaleuna had 11 kills and 15 digs, Matt Mortensen added 14 digs, and Scott Beckwith supplied 12 kills.
Arbor View’s Ray Lewis had 11 kills and Kirby Mengert posted nine kills.
Coronado 3, Silverado 0 — At Coronado, Chris Austin recorded 17 assists, seven kills and eight digs, and Eric Boman had 12 kills and seven digs as the Cougars beat the Skyhawks 25-23, 25-12, 25-18.
Bryan Arana added 11 kills and eight digs for Coronado.
Casey Hadland led Silverado with 16 assists and 13 digs, and Christian Espina added seven kills and four digs.
Foothill 3, Liberty 1 — At Foothill, Britain Rosenberg tallied 45 assists and Cody Clay had 24 kills and three blocks to help the Falcons beat the Patriots, 25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 25-18.
Foothill’s Walter Coe had eight kills and 10 blocks and Joel Stoker supplied seven kills and five blocks.
Liberty’s Sage Nua had eight kills and seven blocks and James Paras had nine kills.
Basic 3, Del Sol 0 — At Basic, Mike Lunen had 26 assists and two kills to help the Wolves to a 25-9, 25-5, 25-22 win over the Dragons.
Basic’s Jensen Lavallee added 11 kills and Austin Hafen had eight kills.
