Roundup: Tech rebounds after 32-34 first-set loss to win in 5

Ossian Makin had 31 assists, five digs and an ace, and James Pool posted 15 kills, five aces and two digs for Tech’s boys volleyball team in a 32-34, 25-17, 25-12, 23-25, 15-12 home win over Sunrise Mountain on Tuesday night.

Pierce Zaman had 18 digs for Tech and Andrew Luong had nine aces.

Emerald Acasili had 22 digs, 11 kills and an ace for Sunrise Mountain.

Las Vegas 3, Basic 2 — At Las Vegas High, three sets including the fifth were decided by two points, and the Wildcats beat the Wolves, 25-17, 23-25, 26-24, 20-25, 17-15.

Skylar Freitas had 19 kills and 12 digs for the Wolves, and Zachary Miller had 21 assists.

Dallas Green added four blocks for the Wolves.

Silverado 3, Boulder City 0 — At Silverado, Sean Borla had six aces and 11 digs in the Skyhawks’ 25-12, 25-13, 25-18 victory over the Eagles.

Michael Palacios had 10 kills and two aces for the Skyhawks, and Tyler Olson had eight kills and two aces.

Boen Huxford had five assists and two kills for the Eagles, Preston Jorgensen had four kills, and Karson Bailey added a kill.

Mojave 3, Western 0 — At Mojave, Daronde McKinney had eight kills, six aces and six digs as the Rattlers rolled to the 25-5, 25-17, 25-9 win over the Warriors.

Nathaniel Arredondo added 25 assists, two aces and eight digs for Mojave, and teammate Christian Espinoza had six kills and eight digs.

Bernardo Jimenez-Pascual had four assists for Western.

Cheyenne 3, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Brandon Wilcoxson had seven kills to lead the Desert Shields to a 25-21, 25-18, 18-25, 25-21 victory over the Cowboys.

Dominique Cook added five kills and four blocks, and Alberto Gramajo had five blocks for Cheyenne.

Juan Benitez paced Chaparral with 14 kills. Robert McGregor added 20 assists for the Cowboys, who got seven kills and three blocks from Chris Chavarria.

Liberty 3, Eldorado 0 — At Liberty, Martin Velasco passed out 22 assists, and Atapana Malele-Faaifo tallied 18 digs and two aces as the Patriots swept the Sundevils, 25-20, 25-16, 25-12.

Sefania Mamea had 17 assists and Seth Monterde supplied 10 digs for Liberty.

Adrian Evans had 10 kills and Dahlton Stack supplied five kills and four digs for Eldorado.

Anthony Tolentino tallied four kills and four digs and Ivan Povalin added three kills and two blocks for Eldorado.

Rancho 3, Valley 1 — At Valley, Omar Abushanab supplied 13 digs and 10 kills to lead the Rams to a 25-16, 25-15, 14-25, 25-17 victory over the Vikings.

Jesus Gonzalez had 23 kills, and Brennan Bert added 13 kills for Rancho.

Samuel Karganilla tallied 19 assists, and teammate Isaac Frazier notched seven digs and five kills to lead Valley.

Foothill 3, Coronado 0 — At Coronado, Tanner Lester had seven kills and five digs to lead the Falcons to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-23 win over the Cougars.

Caleb Stearman added six kills, 10 assists and three aces, and teammate Troy Bell had nine digs for Foothill.

Ben Bloss led Coronado with 10 kills and seven digs. Cody Sciabica and Alex Winiarczyk each added seven kills, and Matt wilson had 18 assists, two kills and three digs for the Falcons.

Del Sol 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Alan Ramos-Flores notched 15 assists and eight aces, and David Anderson put down 10 kills as the Dragons handled the Jaguars 25-10, 25-6, 27-25.

Tyrell Hampton added seven kills and three blocks for Del Sol.

Green Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Green Valley, Tanner Webb put down nine kills, and Chase Johnson added six aces in the Gators’ 25-7, 25-15, 25-9 sweep of the Pioneers.
