ROUNDUP: Wildcats down Rams, clinch Northeast title

Braeden Wilson had 26 kills and 21 digs Monday as Las Vegas High’s boys volleyball team clinched the Northeast League title with a 31-33, 25-14, 25-20, 25-20 road victory over Rancho.

Danny Farias had 49 assists and 22 digs and Aaron Hansen added 15 kills and 12 digs for Las Vegas.

Rancho’s Kevin Wadsworth had 29 assists and Antonio Boucher added 11 kills and 14 digs.

Valley 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Jim Videaux had eight kills, six digs, two blocks and 10 assists as the Vikings downed the Sundevils, 25-9, 25-19, 25-4.

Valley’s Alonzo Blount had 11 kills.

Bonanza 3, Gorman 1 — At Gorman, Andrew Whiting had 10 kills and six blocks in the Bengals’ 25-10, 25-23, 21-25, 25-21 win over the Gaels.

Bonanza’s Jason Bedford added 11 kills.

Gorman’s Bobby Houser had 24 kills and Cameron Tom dished out 36 assists.

Durango 3, Western 0 — At Durango, Jake Jackson logged 34 assists to help the Trailblazers to a 25-14, 27-25, 25-20 victory over Western.

Durango’s Mark Brautigum added 13 kills, David Winitana 12 and Velmin Husic nine.

Sierra Vista 3, Clark 0 — At Sierra Vista, Gino Soriano had five kills and three digs to help the Mountain Lions to a 25-19, 25-14, 25-22 win over the Chargers.

Sierra Vista’s Brian Scroggins added three kills.

Spring Valley 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Spring Valley, Thomas Ricca had 10 kills in the Grizzlies’ 25-12, 25-18, 25-10 win over the Diamondbacks.

Spring Valley’s Spencer Gubler dished out nine assists and Said Ghiasi had five kills and five aces.

Chaparral 3, Canyon Springs 1 — At Chaparral, Carlos Chandia had 25 assists and four digs in the Cowboys’ 25-27, 25-17, 25-19, 25-10 win over the Pioneers.

Chaparral’s LeAndre Dunbar had 12 kills, DeAndre Marshall logged five kills and five aces and D.J. Grassie added five digs and four kills.

Canyon Springs’ Raymond Esteves had 22 assists and Garvin Tanbangcura compiled 44 digs.

Basic 3, Tech 0 — At Basic, Mike Lunen dished out 22 assists to help the Wolves to a 25-10, 25-9, 25-17 victory over the Roadrunners.

Basic’s Jensen Lavallee added 17 kills and Jordan Pils posted seven kills and six digs.
