VOLLEYBALL: Arbor View tops Desert Oasis, claims Northwest title

Treven Clizbe had 12 kills and nine digs, and Andrew Wagner added 12 kills as Arbor View’s boys volleyball team wrapped up its second consecutive Northwest League title with a 25-18, 25-18, 25-17 sweep of visiting Desert Oasis on Wednesday.
Brenden Gougeon had 24 assists, and Michael Prescia had eight digs for Arbor View, which tied with Bonanza for first in the league, but won the tiebreaker based on sets won in the head-to-head matchups between the Aggies and Bengals.
Billy Cameron paced Desert Oasis with 10 kills and two digs.
Basic 3, Rancho 1 — At Basic, Brad McDonald had 17 kills as the Wolves outlasted the Rams, 25-23, 25-21, 11-25, 25-21.
Matt Gajeski added 36 assists and two aces for Basic.
Lamont Traylor led Rancho with 25 kills and 10 digs. Douglas Candido had 41 assists, and Jeffrey Camal notched 18 digs for the Rams.
Tech 3, Desert Pines 1 — At Desert Pines, Julius Barnes had 16 assists and two aces, and Collin Faught added 13 assists and three digs to lead the Roadrunners by the Jaguars, 25-23, 26-28, 25-19, 25-18.
Lamberto Nunez added six kills, four digs and two blocks, and teammate Juan Flores had 10 kills and two blocks for Tech.
Estanislao Lansangan led Desert Pines with 14 assists, 13 digs, nine kills, two aces and two blocks. Carlos Flores had 18 digs, six kills and two blocks, and Ortega Wiltz had 12 digs and seven kills for the Jaguars.
Bonanza 3, Centennial 0 — At Centennial, Robby Adair had 12 kills, three aces and six digs as the Bengals swept the Bulldogs, 25-17, 25-14, 27-25.
Luis Raygoza had three kills, four aces, four digs and 23 assists, and Bronson Duckworth added four kills, three aces and five digs for Bonanza, which got 11 digs from Tyler Simmons.
Justin Dietrich led Centennial with eight kills and four blocks. Farries Gardner had seven kills, and Grant Nelson added 24 assists for the Bulldogs.
Foothill 3, Coronado 0 — At Foothill, Tyler Jacob had 11 kills and five blocks, and Mason Hansen had 10 kills and seven digs as the Falcons rolled to a 25-17, 25-18, 25-21 win over the Cougars.
Shilo Chow had 31 assists and five blocks, and Troy Bell notched 19 digs for Foothill.
Ryan Garlick led Coronado with seven kills and 12 digs. Ben Truman had nine kills, and J.J. Meath added eight kills for the Cougars.
Chaparral 3, Del Sol 0 — At Chaparral, Ezequiel Borrero had 32 assists and four kills, and Isai Barrios put down 14 kills as the Cowboys swept the Dragons, 25-18, 26-24, 25-16.
Ray Almanda added eight kills and two blocks, and Ever Favela had six kills and three digs for Chaparral.
Del Sol’s Blane Quitog had 14 assists, 10 digs and two kills, and Anthony Nehme notched eight kills, four digs, two aces and two blocks for the Dragons.
Cimarron-Memorial 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Cimarron, Utah Mika had nine kills, two blocks and 14 digs, and Fred Tito added seven kills, two aces, two blocks and six digs to lead the Spartans to a 27-25, 25-20, 25-12 win over the Pioneers.
Jameson Valencia had four kills, two aces and two digs, and Cody Brown notched two aces and 25 digs for Cimarron, which also got 28 assists and two aces from Jason Corrales.
Green Valley 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Zachary Hewitt had 21 assists and five kills to lead the Gators to a 25-4, 25-19, 25-8 sweep of the Sundevils.
James Reed added eight kills for Green Valley.
