VOLLEYBALL: Cheyenne overcomes early deficit to top Tech

Tyler Buchanan had 25 kills, and Brian Orellana dished out 38 assists to lead Cheyenne’s boys volleyball team to a 21-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18 win over visiting Tech on Tuesday.

Donyell Brown added six kills for the Desert Shields.

Collin Faught had 14 assists, Pierce Zaman notched seven kills, and Haakon Hunsaker tallied five kills to lead Tech.

Western 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Western, Anthony Dodson put down 10 kills to power the Warriors to a 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 sweep of the Jaguars.

Christian Macias had seven assists, and Zachary Flores added five aces for Western.

Joshua Moran supplied nine digs, and teammate Leonel Rincon notched four kills to lead Desert Pines.

Mojave 3, Del Sol 0 — At Mojave, Antonyo Wright had 18 kills to power the Rattlers to a 27-25, 25-13, 25-18 victory over the Dragons.

Daronde McKinney added 11 kills, and Juan Valdez had 32 assists for Mojave.

Angel Vargas led Del Sol with eight kills. Clinton Cavosora added nine digs for the Dragons, who got 12 assists from Alan Ramos-Flores.

Sunrise Mountain 3, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Trevor White had five kills as the Miners defeated the Cowboys, 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.

Johnny Pedraza added five assists for Sunrise Mountain.

Las Vegas 3, Rancho 0 — At Las Vegas, Shaun Kampshoff supplied 14 kills and 11 assists to guide the Wildcats to a 25-12, 25-9, 25-17 sweep of the Rams.

Elliott Silveira had 13 digs and 10 assists, and Jon Sosa added seven digs and six kills for Las Vegas.

Brennan Berti had four kills to pace Rancho.

Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Justin Sandoval dished out 31 assists, and Isaac Frazier tallied 14 kills as Valley took down Canyon Springs 25-8, 25-18, 25-21.

Hunter Harp added 12 digs for Valley.

Tyrell Hampton led Canyon Springs with five kills.

Sierra Vista 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Ian Albertson had out 34 assists, and Lerone Gibson tallied 12 kills as the Mountain Lions swept the Chargers 25-14, 25-13, 25-14.

Chris McCoy added 11 kills for Sierra Vista.

Christopher Ramirez notched 13 assists, and Kizihonie Blunt had six kills and four digs for Clark, which also got five kills and two digs from Lemuel Seligbon.

Durango 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Durango, Andre Shabazz recorded 22 assists, four kills, five digs, four aces and three blocks to lead the Trailblazers to a 25-19, 25-18, 25-19 sweep of the Diamondbacks.

Jaylen Clark tallied eight kills, six digs, two aces and two blocks, and Tai Foster added five kills and two aces for Durango.

Joshua Sadama led Desert Oasis with 11 assists and 10 digs, and teammate Bryson Sadama had 11 digs. Colin Bracchi added five kills and two blocks for the Diamondbacks.

Bishop Gorman 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Charles Pollnow had seven kills, seven digs and 10 aces, and Trevor Popock added 33 assists and two aces to lift the Gaels over the Grizzlies, 25-9, 25-13, 25-18.

Blake Weissman had six kills and three digs, and Anthony Leach added four kills, three digs and three blocks for Gorman.

Joshua Hunt led Spring Valley with 11 assists.

Syed Husain finished with 11 digs, and Michael Daniel had two aces for the Grizzlies.
