VOLLEYBALL: Chow, Falcons top Cougars

Shilo Chow had 34 assists, four kills and six blocks, and Colin Curi added 10 kills and six digs Monday to help host Foothill’s boys volleyball team to a 25-21, 19-25, 25-20, 25-20 win over Coronado.

Eric Szukiewicz had 12 kills, and teammate Steve Robison supplied seven kills, five digs and four aces for the Falcons, who got five kills and six blocks from Branson Diaz.

Samuel Cox had 46 assists, two aces and two blocks, and Karriem Beyah added 15 kills for the Cougars. Jon Meath had 12 kills, and Matt Johnson added 10 kills for Coronado.

Rancho 3, Basic 2 — At Basic, Ryan Hafen had 17 kills and 11 digs, and Montef Hargrove added 13 kills, 10 digs and two aces as the Rams rallied for a 24-26, 25-14, 22-25, 25-23, 15-7 win over the Wolves.

Lamont Traylor had 19 kills and five blocks, and teammate Douglas Candido dished out 47 assists for Rancho.

Brad McDonald had 14 kills to lead Basic. Jeremy Shafer had eight kills and five blocks, Wyatt Williams had 29 assists, and Bo Peterson added 23 digs for the Wolves.

Clark 3, Spring Valley 2 — At Clark, Walt Benda had 18 kills, 12 digs and five aces to lead the Chargers to a 19-25, 25-9, 25-13, 23-25, 15-9 victory over the Grizzlies.

Henok Mucheye added 12 kills, and Daniel Diaz-Villa had 11 kills for Clark. Walter Regalado added 41 assists for the Chargers, and teammate Daniel Pedroza had 15 digs.

Stevan Paukovic had 12 kills, six blocks and two digs to lead Spring Valley. Troy Lance added nine kills, two aces and three blocks for the Grizzlies, who got 23 assists from Ben Colunga.

Bonanza 3, Centennial 1 — At Centennial, Andrew Jensen had 20 kills to lead the Bengals to a 25-20, 19-25, 25-23, 25-23 win over the Bulldogs.

Luis Raygoza added 32 assists and seven digs, and teammate Robby Adair had eight kills and nine digs for Bonanza. Tyler Simmons added 11 digs for the Bengals.

Tanner Durkin had 15 kills, and Grant Nelson had 46 assists for Centennial, which got 23 digs from Cody Graham.

Arbor View 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Arbor View, Treven Clizbe had 15 kills and four aces to lead the Aggies past the Diamondbacks, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.

Ben Martin had 40 assists, two digs and four blocks, and Michael Prescia added eight digs for Arbor View.

Mojave 3, Western 0 — At Western, Jordan Glenn had 12 kills to help the Rattlers to a 25-12, 25-18, 25-20 sweep of the Warriors.

Jason Zambrano had 28 assists, and Clayton Fontano had seven kills for Mojave, which got 16 digs from Anthony Reed.

Kristopher Poole had seven kills for Western. William Riggs had nine assists, for the Warriors, who got seven digs from Gerardo Cardenas.

Sierra Vista 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Sierra Vista, Nick Fava had 13 kills and four digs to lead the Mountain Lions past the Desert Shields, 25-18, 25-18, 25-17.

Sierra Vista’s Matt Marick had eight digs, and Brendan Cowden had 23 assists for the Mountain Lions.

Green Valley 3, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Chase Larson had eight kills to lead the Gators by the Sundevils, 25-19, 25-14, 25-13.

Zachary Hewitt had 24 assists, and teammate Tanner Casto added four blocks for Green Valley.

Dakota Shults recorded 14 kills for Eldorado, and Dylon Richardson had 19 assists for the Sundevils.
