VOLLEYBALL: Clark holds off Spring Valley in five sets

Kizihonie Blunt had 23 kills, 10 digs and three blocks, and Christopher Ramirez added 35 assists and 15 digs to lead Clark’s boys volleyball team to a 25-10, 20-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-10 victory over visiting Spring Valley on Friday.

Danniel Navata had 12 kills and 11 digs, and Nicko Babilonia added three kills and 22 digs for the Chargers.

Jeremiah Teems-Robinson led the Grizzlies with 11 kills, 10 digs and nine blocks.

Joshua Hunt had three kills, 24 assists and seven digs, Michael Daniel had six kills and 34 digs and Syed Husain finished with 42 digs for Spring Valley.

Sierra Vista 3, Bonanza 0 — At Sierra Vista, Chris McCoy’s 14 kills helped carry the Mountain Lions to a 25-18, 28-26, 25-17 sweep of the Bengals.

Frank Hines had eight kills and four digs for the Mountain Lions.

Paolo Luchs had 10 kills and three digs, and James Mead had 15 assists to lead Bonanza.

Victor Fajardo had six assists and six digs, and Moises Sandoval added seven digs for the Bengals.

Basic 3, Valley 0 — At Valley, Matt Gajeski had 23 assists, four digs and three kills to help the Wolves to a 25-10, 25-17, 26-24 victory over the Vikings.

Dylan Callister had seven kills, five blocks and four digs for the Wolves, and teammate C.J. Perkins had 16 digs and an assist.

Hunter Harp had 20 assists for the Vikings, Isaac Frazier had eight kills and four digs, and Noah Sutton had five kills.

Green Valley 3, Durango 0 — At Green Valley, Tanner Casto’s seven kills and 10 digs helped the Gators beat the Trailblazers, 25-15, 25-20, 25-18.

Green Valley’s Zachary Fedarko had 12 digs, and Alex Rasavong had 10 digs.

Jaylen Clark had 12 kills and 13 digs to lead Sierra Vista. Andre Shabazz had 28 assists and 11 digs, Filip Bosnajak had five kills and six digs, and Braetin Foster had 13 digs for the Mountain Lions.

Tech 3, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Collin Faught’s 32 assists and four aces led the Roadrunners to a 24-26, 25-17, 21-25, 25-19, 15-10 victory over the Miners.

Tech’s Pierce Zaman had nine kills, and teammate Haakon Hunsaker had seven kills.

Emerald Acasili led Sunrise Mountain with 11 kills. Elijah Bright had 17 digs, Johnny Pedraza had 24 assists, and Trevor White had eight kills for the Miners.

Cheyenne 3, Chaparral 2 — At Chaparral, Tyler Buchanan had 16 kills, four aces and four blocks, and the Desert Shields rallied for an 18-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-8, 15-12 win over the Cowboys.

Brian Orellana totaled 25 assists and eight aces for Cheyenne.

For Chaparral, Jacob Frisch had 10 assists and a pair of aces, while teammate Chris Charvarria finished with nine kills and two blocks.

Del Sol 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Del Sol, Angel Vargas had 16 assists, four aces, three kills and three digs to lead the Dragons to a 25-9, 25-10, 25-12 victory over the Jaguars.

Yerovys Vargas-Gill added eight kills, two blocks and an ace for the Dragons.

Luis Rodriguez had five assists and five blocks for the Jaguars, Heriberto Mireles had five assists and a block, and Ricardo Acuna had eight blocks.

Mojave 3, Western 0 — At Mojave, Joseph Silva finished with 10 kills and six aces, and Juan Valdez had 25 assists to lead the Rattlers to a 25-8, 25-18, 25-8 victory over the Warriors.

Antonyo Wright had nine kills, and Joshua Andam added 12 digs for Mojave.

Anthony Dodson led Western with seven kills and one block. Brandon Grajeda had three kills and two blocks, and Faibeone Simeus had two kills and two blocks for the Warriors.
