VOLLEYBALL: Fava helps Mountain Lions to victory over Clark

Nik Fava had 15 kills, seven digs and two aces Monday to lead Sierra Vista to a 25-18, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22 boys volleyball victory over host Clark.
Jasper Cook added 11 kills, five blocks and two digs for the Mountain Lions.
Amir Boone led Clark with 11 kills and five blocks. Antonio Martinez added 35 assists and four digs, and teammate Dane Taylor-Phillips had 24 digs for the Chargers.
Palo Verde 3, Bishop Gorman 0 — At Palo Verde, Scott Solan had 15 kills and five blocks to lead the Panthers to a 25-22, 25-23, 28-26 victory over the Gaels.
Haden Van Orden added 29 assists for Palo Verde, which got nine kills from Grant Tingey and 14 digs from Jacob Scheer.
Mojave 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Mojave, Antonyo Wright had 14 kills to lead the Rattlers to a 25-11, 25-10, 25-17 sweep of the Grizzlies.
Josh Andam had eight aces and nine digs, and Joseph Silva had six kills and eight digs for Mojave, which got 22 assists from Marquis Wilkerson.
Spring Valley’s Troy Lance had three kills, and Ace Labrelhe had two digs and two blocks for the Grizzlies.
Durango 3, Legacy 0 — At Durango, Jaylen Clark had 11 kills, two aces, nine digs and two blocks as the Trailblazers swept the Longhorns, 25-11, 25-18, 25-19.
Michael Diggins had 11 kills, six digs and two blocks, and Andre Shabazz had four kills, 27 assists and six digs for Durango.
Anthony Guevara and Omar Wheeler each had four kills and three digs for Legacy. Nephi Purcell added nine assists, six digs and two aces for the Longhorns.
Cheyenne 3, Western 0 — At Cheyenne, Lanson Keomaka had 15 assists, and Elijah Cocker had seven kills to help the Desert Shields to a 25-22, 25-18, 25-15 win over the Warriors.
Jessy Zapata had three aces for Cheyenne.
Brandon Ly had 13 digs for Western. Anthony Dodson added three kills and three blocks for the Warriors.
Valley 3, Liberty 0 — At Valley, Marty Heavey had 17 kills as the Vikings swept the Patriots, 25-17, 25-18, 25-18.
Jared Marchello added 15 kills, and Justin Sandoval added 36 assists for Valley.
Las Vegas 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Jonathan Sosa had 10 assists and five kills to lead the Wildcats over the Pioneers, 25-16, 25-13, 25-21.
Luis Wong had 18 assists, and Brandon Kampshoff and Kevin Smith each had six kills for Las Vegas.
