VOLLEYBALL: Foothill boys alone in Southeast penthouse after topping Cougars

Kendell Andrews had 17 kills, five blocks and seven digs on Tuesday as Foothill’s boys volleyball team defeated visiting Coronado 25-23, 25-22, 17-25, 25-21 to take over sole possession of first place in the Southeast League.

Taeg Williams had 43 assists, and Chansten Chow and Caleb Hutchinson added 12 and 10 kills, respectively, for the Falcons. Chow and Hutchinson each had four blocks.

Matt Pettit led Coronado with 18 kills and three aces. Tyler Cucullu had 14 kills and 11 digs, and Connor Stephenson had 40 assists for the Cougars.

Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Valley, Jack Heavey registered 16 kills, nine digs, three aces and two blocks, and Sean Carter added 35 assists and five digs as the Vikings swept the Pioneers 25-10, 25-14, 25-10.

Matt Ballaro had eight kills and five digs, and David Delaney supplied 10 digs and two aces for Valley.

Carl Esteban supplied eight assists and six digs for Canyon Springs, which also got five digs and four kills from Immanuel Tufuga and four kills and two blocks from Zack Ross.

Rancho 3, Green Valley 1 — At Green Valley, Aaron Robles dished out 30 assists and added eight digs to lead the Rams to a 25-17, 27-25, 20-25, 25-18 victory over the Gators.

Jef Rebibes supplied 13 kills and 10 digs, and Andrew Dittrich contributed seven blocks and six kills for Rancho, which got 16 digs from Art Chianchitlert.

Derrick Webb and Kenan Haywood each had 10 kills, and Ethan Hunt finished with nine kills, to lead Green Valley.

Las Vegas 3, Silverado 1 — At Las Vegas, Blake Burgess had 19 kills to lead the Wildcats to a 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 26-24 victory over the Skyhawks.

Shayne Marquez dished out 21 assists, Evan Kinard put up 13 digs and Brian Singson added 11 kills for Las Vegas.

Curtis Hadland supplied 23 kills, Shawn Steckel had 31 assists and Austin Hunt notched 10 kills for Silverado.

Palo Verde 3, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Palo Verde, Andrew Weston dished out 52 assists to help the Panthers to a 24-26, 25-20, 25-19, 25-15 win over the Mustangs.

Mitchell Scott had 28 digs, and Brigham Clawson added 15 kills for Palo Verde.

Richard Sterling had 13 kills and 20 digs to pace Shadow Ridge, which got 27 digs from A.J. Makaiwi.

Arbor View 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Brian Porter had 10 kills, five aces and three digs to help the Aggies down the Trailblazers 25-15, 25-16, 25-20.

Peter Peck added six digs and four aces for Arbor View.

Paris Estrada finished with six kills, three blocks and two aces, and Pedro Abrego tallied 12 assists and six digs for Durango.

Sierra Vista 3, Spring Valley 2 — At Sierra Vista, Srdjan Cvijetic put away 15 kills, and Julius Sison handed out 47 assists to help the Mountain Lions outlast the Grizzlies 25-12, 24-26, 25-20, 24-26, 15-13.

Diego Gutierrez added seven kills and six aces for Sierra Vista.

Jim Tran had nine kills and six aces, and James Nunez provided 15 assists for Spring Valley.

Mojave 3, Clark 0 — At Mojave, Jovan Carrazco dished out 30 assists, and Christian Limtiaco put down 18 kills in the Rattlers’ 25-19, 25-10, 25-18 sweep of the Chargers.

Matt Albinio added 11 kills for Mojave.

Walt Benda led Clark with 10 kills.

Western 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Western, Vadell Wilson racked up 18 kills, five blocks and four aces as the Warriors defeated the Desert Shields 25-17, 24-26, 25-22, 25-18.

Derrick Rinfrow added 10 kills and three aces, and teammate Braeden Smith finished with 23 assists, four kills, three blocks and two aces for Western.

Deonte Perkins led Cheyenne with 13 kills, and Jehloni Whitfield dished out 13 assists.
