VOLLEYBALL: Franklin, Compton rally Legacy past Palo Verde

Zaire Franklin had 16 kills and nine digs, and Trent Compton added 14 kills and 10 digs on Thursday to help Legacy’s boys volleyball team outlast visiting Palo Verde, 25-17, 11-25, 23-25, 25-12, 15-8.

Tanner Compton had 12 kills and eight digs, and Braden Liu supplied 46 assists, four kills, three aces and five digs for the Longhorns.

Andrew Weston dished out 31 assists, and Brigham Clawson had 15 kills for the Panthers. Michael Simister supplied eight kills, and Greg Kinney had six kills for Palo Verde.

Desert Oasis 3, Sierra Vista 2 — At Desert Oasis, Saunoa Afoa had 18 kills and five blocks to help the Diamondbacks rally for a 25-22, 20-25, 18-25, 25-23, 16-14 win over the Mountain Lions.

Ailey Asulin had 33 assists, and Qwade Huff added seven kills and five blocks for Desert Oasis.

Kelvin Liang had eight kills, 18 digs and two aces to pace Sierra Vista.

Bonanza 3, Rancho 2 — At Bonanza, Andrew Jensen had 25 kills and seven digs, and Brian Clow had 20 kills as the Bengals rallied for a 19-25, 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 15-11 win over the Rams.

Kellen Layne added 15 kills, six blocks and five digs, and Josh Lee had 55 assists and six digs for Bonanza, which got nine digs from Adam Puckoris.

Martin Rodriguez led Rancho with 20 kills and 11 digs. Aaron Robles added 32 assists, eight digs and three aces, and Austin Moncrief had seven kills and six blocks for the Rams.

Basic 3, Clark 1 — At Basic, Auston Farrington had 10 kills and 19 digs to lead the Wolves to a 25-20, 25-13, 21-25, 27-25 win over the Chargers.

Brad McDonald added 12 kills for the Wolves, who got 45 assists and three kills from Taylor Dyer. Austin McDonald added 37 digs, and Austin Delacarrera had nine kills for Basic.

Walt Benda led the Chargers with 18 kills. Walter Regalado had 20 assists, and Jose Sahagun contributed seven digs for Clark.

Tech 3, Eldorado 1 — At Eldorado, Miguel Garcia had 10 kills and 10 assists to help the Roadrunners to a 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 26-24 win over the Sundevils.

Tyler Gardenhire had 17 kills and three blocks, and Joshua Wood added 22 assists and six kills for Tech.

Dakota Shults had 17 kills, and Michael Thomas dished out 35 assists for Eldorado. Juan Garcia added 31 digs, and Jacob Tibbs had 10 kills for the Sundevils, who got seven kills from Jacob Hollingsworth.

Arbor View 3, Las Vegas 0 — At Las Vegas, Darrell Swanson had 15 kills to help the Aggies to a 25-16, 25-19, 25-22 sweep of the Wildcats.

Darien Bradley added 15 kills and three blocks, and Chris Heron had 33 assists and five kills for Arbor View, which got six blocks and five kills from Kaneen Manuel.

Guillermo Gonzalez had eight kills and four blocks, and Shayne Marquez notched 24 assists, five kills and three blocks for Las Vegas.

Green Valley 3, Liberty 0 — At Liberty, Zachary Hewitt had 10 kills, five aces and six digs to lead the Gators to a 25-20, 25-16, 29-27 sweep of the Patriots.

Arvin Nitollama had 38 assists and two aces for Green Valley.

D.J. Norris had five kills, and Ryan Taggert had three blocks for Liberty.

Del Sol 3, Western 0 — At Western, Josue Aguirre had seven kills and three aces to lead the Dragons to a sweep of the Warriors, 25-17, 25-11, 26-24.

Blane Quitog dished out seven assists and added five digs for Del Sol. Andrei Santamaria added 11 digs, and Kyle Collins had 11 assists and three aces for the Dragons.

Thomas Morris led Western with eight kills, three assists, six digs and three blocks. William Riggs added seven kills, three digs and two aces for the Warriors.

Mojave 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Jovan Carrazco provided 34 assists and five aces to lead the Rattlers to a 25-10, 25-6, 25-8 sweep of the Pioneers.

Victor Boardley had 13 kills and five aces, and Clayton Fontano added nine kills and three aces for Mojave.
