VOLLEYBALL: Hewitt, Elliott help Gators top Rams on the road

Zachary Hewitt had 15 kills and 14 digs, and Dustin Elliott added 14 kills and 10 digs to lead Green Valley’s boys volleyball team to a 23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 15-25, 15-10 road victory over Rancho on Tuesday.
Arvin Nitollama had 51 assists and 10 digs for the Gators.
Lamont Traylor led the Rams with nine kills and nine blocks. Ryan Hafen added 10 blocks, and Aaron Robles had 29 assists for Rancho.
Chaparral 3, Tech 2 — At Chaparral, Pierce Morgan had 12 kills, 15 digs and four aces to lead the Cowboys to a 21-25, 18-25, 25-17, 27-25, 16-14 victory over the Roadrunners.
Josiah Wagge added 10 kills and 16 assists, and Armando Zarate had five kills and 18 digs for Chaparral.
Tyler Gardenhire led Tech with 18 kills and 15 digs. Miguel Garcia had six kills and 23 digs, and Joshua Wood added 26 assists, 19 digs and four kills for the Roadrunners.
Sierra Vista 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Julius Sison had 47 assists to lead the Mountain Lions to a 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20 win over the Grizzlies.
Clyde Balagtas had 18 kills, and Dillon Larson supplied nine kills for Sierra Vista.
Spring Valley’s Bradd Robison had 12 kills, and teammate James Nunez notched 14 assists. Troy Lance contributed 11 blocks for the Grizzlies.
Coronado 3, Foothill 0 — At Coronado, Max Osmundson had 17 kills, four digs, two blocks and an ace to lead the Cougars to a 31-29, 25-18, 25-22 victory over the Falcons.
Travis Boman added 11 kills, seven digs and a block, and teammate Logan Dickover had 41 assists, eight digs and three blocks for Coronado.
Sam Cox finished with 15 digs and two aces for the Cougars.
Taeg Williams led Foothill with 26 assists and two aces. Weston Lott had six kills and two blocks, and Jonny Rolle and Ian Ellis each added four kills and three blocks for the Falcons.
Palo Verde 3, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Andrew Weston had 41 assists, seven digs and two blocks, and Greg Kinney added 14 kills, three digs and two aces as the Panthers defeated the Mustangs, 25-21, 25-22, 27-25.
Michael Simister had 16 kills, Brigham Clawson supplied nine kills, two aces and two digs, and Steven Day added six kills for Palo Verde.
Shadow Ridge’s Carter Johnson had eight digs and two blocks, and Cody Heathcock notched six kills for the Mustangs.
Las Vegas 3, Silverado 0 — At Silverado, T.J. Esporas had 10 kills and eight digs to lead the Wildcats to a 25-15, 25-14, 25-21 win over the Skyhawks.
Shane Marquez added 24 assists and 11 digs, and teammate Tristan Gordon had six kills and five blocks for Las Vegas.
Austin Hunt led Silverado with 13 kills and four blocks. Kevin DuBoe had four kills and five digs, and Travis Houston had 13 digs for the Skyhawks.
Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Alex Sandoval had 33 assists, five digs and four aces, and Matt Ballaro provided 10 kills, four digs and two aces as the Vikings swept the Pioneers, 25-11, 25-7, 25-10.
Jack Heavey had 10 kills and three digs, Zack Ross notched eight kills, and Rodney Quito added four kills for Valley.
Celso Balmes had four digs for Canyon Springs.
Arbor View 3, Durango 0 — At Arbor View, Darrell Swanson had 14 kills and 11 digs to lead the Aggies to a 25-15, 25-15, 25-13 victory over the Trailblazers.
Chris Herron added 33 assists and four kills, and Sam Buckels had seven kills and five aces for Arbor View.
Andre Shabazz led Durango with four blocks. Jaylen Clark added three blocks, and Frank Patricio had two kills for the Trailblazers.
Sunrise Mountain 3, Desert Pines 2 — At Desert Pines, the Miners defeated the Jaguars, 19-25, 22-25, 25-13, 26-24, 15-9.
