VOLLEYBALL: Johnson, Roadrunners rally to top Del Sol

Gary Johnson had 10 kills Tuesday as the Tech boys volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to beat Del Sol 11-25, 24-26, 25-16, 25-17, 15-12 in a Division I-A Sunrise League match.

Justin Rogers added six kills for the Roadrunners.

Blane Quitog led Del Sol with 12 kills, five aces and four digs. Anthony Nehme had seven kills and four aces, and Alec Monetemayor dished out 53 assists for the Dragons, who got seven digs from Jacob Burge.

Centennial 3, Silverado 1 — At Centennial, Kade Frischknecht had 14 kills and 14 digs to lead the Bulldogs to a 25-13, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23 win over the Skyhawks.

Justin Dietrich supplied 12 kills, four blocks and four aces, and teammate Tristan James had 12 digs for Centennial.

Cody Steckel led Silverado with 29 assists. Michael Gonzalez added 17 digs, and Kris Coe had 12 kills for the Skyhawks.

Green Valley 3, Coronado 1 — At Coronado, Dustin Elliott had 13 kills and nine digs to help the Gators to a 22-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-15 win over the Cougars.

Chase Larson added 11 kills and four blocks, and Zachary Hewitt had 40 assists, three aces and seven digs for Green Valley.

J.J. Meath and Ryan Garlick each had 13 kills, and Justice Balanay-Flores added 34 assists and 12 digs for Coronado, which got 14 digs from Nathan Gerrard.

Desert Pines 3, Sunrise Mountain 1 — At Sunrise Mountain, Estanislao Lansangan had 21 assists and eight kills, and Ortega Wiltz added 13 kills and four assists as the Jaguars beat the Miners, 16-25, 25-19, 26-24, 25-20.

Carlos Ortiz had five kills and four blocks for Desert Pines.

Theodore Williams led Sunrise Mountain with 27 digs, seven aces and five kills. Rodney King had 22 digs, and Trevor White supplied six kills and two blocks for the Miners.

Bonanza 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Bonanza, Luis Raygoza had 30 assists and six digs, and Bronson Duckworth notched eight kills, six digs and two blocks as the Bengals swept the Diamondbacks, 25-10, 25-21, 25-19.

Robby Adair had nine kills and four digs, and Tyler Simmons added nine digs for Bonanza.

Billy Cameron led Desert Oasis with 14 kills and six digs. Joshua Sadama had 12 assists, and Bryson Sadama added 12 digs for the Diamondbacks.

Arbor View 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Brenden Gougeon had 26 assists and seven digs as the Aggies swept the Spartans, 25-16, 25-16, 25-14.

Michael Prescia had 18 digs, and Treven Clizbe added 16 kills for Arbor View, which also got 13 kills from Brenden Wagner.

Jason Corrales led Cimarron with 17 kills. Cody Brown had 13 digs, and Fred Tito added eight kills for the Spartans.

Foothill 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Shilo Chow had 32 assists, six digs, five kills and four aces to lead the Falcons past the Rams, 26-16, 25-16, 25-23.

Eric Szukiewicz had nine kills, seven digs and three blocks, and Troy Bell added 15 digs for Foothill, which got 12 kills from Tyler Jacob.

Lamont Traylor had 14 kills and 10 digs for Rancho, and teammate Daniel Grantham added nine digs and five kills.

Basic 3, Eldorado 0 — At Basic, Matt Gajeski had 32 assists and two aces as the Wolves swept the Sundevils, 25-19, 25-12, 27-25.

Brad McDonald had 16 kills for Basic.

Chaparral 3, Word of Life 0 — At Tarkanian Academy, the Cowboys topped the Eagles, 25-7, 25-13, 25-11.
