VOLLEYBALL: Magante powers Wildcats past Cougars

Ryan Magante had 15 kills and six digs Monday to lead Las Vegas High’s boys volleyball team to a 25-20, 23-25, 26-24, 18-25, 15-10 win at Coronado.

Royce Reyes added 18 assists, three aces and two kills, and Roland Cox had nine kills and four blocks for the Wildcats.

J.J. Meath had 13 kills, and Matt Johnson added nine kills and four blocks for the Cougars. Samuel Cox had 45 assists and two blocks, and teammate Travis Little supplied seven kills and 11 digs for Coronado.

Green Valley 3, Liberty 2 — At Green Valley, Dustin Elliott had 17 kills as the Gators rallied for a 26-24, 26-28, 23-25, 25-22, 15-11 win over the Patriots.

Chase Larson added 10 kills, 11 digs and four aces for Green Valley.

Brandon Baliza had five kills and four aces, and Ryan Taggert added five kills and four blocks for Liberty, which got 13 assists from Brycen Ivester.

Eldorado 3, Canyon Springs 1 — At Eldorado, Dakota Shults had 25 kills to lead the Sundevils past the Pioneers, 25-9, 24-26, 25-16, 25-18.

Dylon Richardson had 28 assists, and Sean Amigo had 16 digs for the Sundevils.

Bryan Castro had three assists, and three aces, and Maurice Hunter had two kills and three blocks for Canyon Springs.

Rancho 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Rancho, Martin Rodriguez had 14 kills, seven digs and four aces to lead the Rams to a 25-14, 25-10, 25-10 win over the Spartans.

Lamont Traylor added seven kills, and Douglas Candido had 16 assists for Rancho.

Joe Tito led Cimarron with six kills and four digs.

Valley 3, Basic 0 — At Basic, Marty Heavey had 13 kills, three aces and six digs to lead the Vikings to a 25-18, 25-18, 25-15 sweep of the Wolves.

Jared Marchello had five kills and seven digs, and Chase Fayeghi had six kills and three digs for Valley, which got 24 assists, and six digs from Alex Sandoval.

Basic’s Brad McDonald had 10 kills, and Wyatt Williams added 17 assists for the Wolves, who got 11 digs from Bo Peterson.

Foothill 3, Silverado 0 — At Foothill, Eric Szukiewicz had 11 kills, three aces and four digs to lead the Falcons to a 25-23, 25-14, 25-16 sweep of the Skyhawks.

Shilo Chow added three kills, 27 assists, five digs and four blocks, and Colin Curi had seven kills and seven digs for Foothill.

Tyler Gralapp had seven kills, and teammate Cody Steckel added 11 aces and six digs for Silverado.

Bonanza 3, Tech 0 — At Bonanza, Andrew Jensen had seven kills, three aces, three digs and three blocks to lead the Bengals to a 25-9, 25-15, 25-11 sweep of the Roadrunners.

Bronson Duckworth added three kills and three blocks, and Luis Raygoza had 21 kills for Bonanza, which got four digs from Tyler Simmons.
