VOLLEYBALL: Meath, Garlick help Coronado hand Foothill first league loss

J.J. Meath and Ryan Garlick each had 17 kills Monday as Coronado’s boys volleyball team outlasted visiting Foothill, 25-18, 25-22, 34-36, 14-25, 15-13.
It was the first Southeast League loss for the Falcons.
Meath added eight digs, and Garlick had 15 digs and five blocks. Nik Purser added 16 kills and 17 digs for the Cougars, and teammate Justice Balanay-Flores had 61 assists and 13 digs.
Nathan Gerrard had 19 digs for Coronado, which is tied with Foothill for first place in the league at 4-1.
Shilo Chow led Foothill with 11 kills, 33 assists and six blocks. Jonny Rolle added 11 kills and seven blocks for the Falcons, who got 21 digs from Troy Bell.
Basic 3, Rancho 2 — At Rancho, Brad McDonald had 26 kills, two aces and two blocks to lead the Wolves to a 25-20, 26-24, 20-25, 21-25, 18-16 road victory over the Rams.
Matt Gajeski had 48 assists, and teammate Jacob Fulton added five blocks for Basic.
Lamont Traylor led Rancho with 44 kills and nine digs. Jeffrey Camal added 27 digs for the Rams, who got 11 kills and two blocks from Brennan Berti.
Tech 3, Desert Pines 2 — At Tech, Collin Faught had 18 assists and two aces to help the Roadrunners outlast the Jaguars, 25-22, 25-23, 19-25, 22-25, 15-11.
Sir-Isaak Singleton had nine kills, and Juan Flores and Julius Barnes each added eight kills for Tech.
Estanislao Lansangan had 11 kills, 23 assists, 22 digs and three aces to pace Desert Pines. Ortega Wiltz added 13 kills, 25 digs and two blocks, and Carlos Flores had seven kills and five blocks for the Jaguars.
Clark 3, Cimarron-Memorial 2 — At Cimarron, Alan Cruz had 11 kills and 20 digs to help the Chargers outlast the Spartans, 25-19, 18-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-13.
Antonio Martinez had 35 assists, 10 digs and three blocks, and Edward Xiong added 18 digs and two aces for Clark, which got 13 kills from Amir Boone.
Erick Forbush had 14 kills and 14 digs for Cimarron. Utah Mika had 10 kills and two blocks, and Fred Tito added 11 kills for Cimarron, which got 38 assists from Jason Corrales.
Bonanza 3, Centennial 0 — At Bonanza, Luis Raygoza had 49 assists, eight digs and seven aces to lead the Bengals over the Bulldogs, 27-25, 25-18, 30-28.
Robby Adair had 28 kills for Bonanza, which got 11 kills and nine digs from Bronson Duckworth. Adam Escobar added nine digs for the Bengals.
Justin Dietrich led Centennial with 16 kills, four blocks and two digs. Tristan James had 14 digs and two aces for the Bulldogs.
Arbor View 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Desert Oasis, Treven Clizbe had 12 kills, seven digs and two blocks to lead the Aggies past the Diamondbacks, 25-15, 25-21, 25-17.
Brenden Wagner had 12 kills and three digs, Michael Prescia had 17 digs, and Brenden Gougeon added 27 assists for Arbor View.
Billy Cameron had 12 kills, three aces and five digs to lead Desert Oasis. Tyler Sadama had 11 assists and three digs, Joshua Sadama had 10 assists and two digs, and Chris Gama had four kills and three blocks for the Diamondbacks.
Green Valley 3, Eldorado 0 — At Green Valley, Mark Bowler had four kills and two aces as the Gators swept the Sundevils, 25-11, 25-18, 25-13.
Cooper Burgess had five blocks, and Brian Barkemeyer-Katz had two aces and 21 assists for Green Valley.
Chaparral 3, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, Isai Barrios had 18 kills to lead the Cowboys to a 27-25, 25-15, 25-19 victory over the Dragons.
Ezequiel Borrero added 10 kills for Chaparral. Ever Favela (34 digs) and Cesar Mendoza (23 digs) led the Cowboys defensively.
Blane Quitog had 11 kills and two aces to pace Del Sol. Alec Montemayor added 21 assists, and Anthony Nehme had four kills and five blocks for the Dragons.
Durango 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Andre Shabazz had 27 assists, three kills and two digs to lead the Trailblazers over the Pioneers, 25-12, 25-23, 25-14.
Jaylen Clark added seven kills, 14 digs and two aces, and teammate Jason Landman notched five kills and two blocks for Durango.
Edward Cromwell had three kills and five assists for Canyon Springs, which got three kills from Dion Johnson.
Sunrise Mountain 3, Word of Life 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Rodney King had seven aces and five digs to lead the Miners over the Eagles, 25-14, 25-12, 25-15.
Kevin Polenda added six kills, and teammate Bobby Brass had five aces for Sunrise Mountain.
