VOLLEYBALL: Reed, Gators top visiting Rams

James Reed had 17 kills and seven digs Tuesday to help host Green Valley’s boys volleyball team to a 25-19, 25-27, 25-16, 26-24 win over Rancho.

Chase Larson added 14 kills and two blocks, and Zachary Hewitt had 46 assists and five kills for the Gators.

Lamont Traylor had 19 kills and three blocks, and Douglas Candido added 36 assists and two aces for the Rams. Ryan Hafen had nine kills and nine digs for Rancho.

Sierra Vista 3, Western 2 — At Sierra Vista, Brendan Cowden had six aces, and Lerone Gibson spiked five kills as the Mountain Lions outlasted the Warriors, 24-26, 25-9, 25-17, 20-25, 15-13.

William Riggs tallied 20 assists, seven kills and six digs, and Kristopher Poole had 11 kills and 14 digs for Western.

Cheyenne 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Cheyenne, Shevaun Hutchinson-McLeod had eight kills and six aces to lead the Desert Shields to a 25-19, 21-25, 25-16, 25-23 win over the Grizzlies.

Aaron Robinson added four aces and five digs, and Tyler Ngarmnet had five aces for Cheyenne.

Troy Lance led Spring Valley with six kills, five assists and three blocks. James McDonald added three kills, two aces and two blocks, and Theodore Pele had three aces and two digs for the Grizzlies.

Desert Oasis 3, Cimarron-Memorial 1 — At Desert Oasis, Saunoa Afoa had 14 kills and two aces to lead the Diamondbacks to a 25-27, 25-20, 25-11, 25-15 win over the Spartans.

Billy Cameron had nine kills and five aces for Desert Oasis.

Deshawn Creswell had nine kills and five digs, and Joe Tito had five kills, eight blocks and three digs for Cimarron, which got 21 assists from Will Baird.

Coronado 3, Eldorado 0 — At Coronado, Matt Johnson had nine kills and three digs, and Trey Hunter added seven kills and two blocks to lead the Cougars to a 25-20, 25-14, 25-15 win over the Sundevils.

Sam Cox had 32 assists, six digs and three aces, and Cole Gerrard supplied 15 digs and three aces for Coronado.

Dakota Shults spiked 17 kills, and Dylan Richardson dished out 20 assists for Eldorado.

Foothill 3, Basic 0 — At Foothill, Zachary Sangster had 28 assists, six digs, four kills and two blocks to help the Falcons sweep the Wolves, 25-16, 25-18, 26-24.

Ryen Feldman had 11 kills, nine digs and three blocks, and Colin Curi added 12 digs and nine kills for Foothill.

Bo Peterson had 18 digs, and Brad McDonald tallied seven assists for Basic.

Arbor View 3, Centennial 0 — At Arbor View, Kaneen Manuel had 14 kills and three blocks to help the Aggies to a 25-20, 26-24, 25-13 win over the Bulldogs.

Sam Buckels had 11 kills and five digs, and Ben Martin added 35 assists and five digs for Arbor View.

Tanner Polley and Tanner Durkin each had 10 kills for Centennial.

Mojave 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Jason Zambrano supplied 31 assists and 14 digs to help lead the Rattlers to a 25-12, 25-14, 25-20 sweep of the Chargers.

Malik Wayman had 11 kills and eight digs, and Absalon Williams contributed eight kills and five blocks for Mojave, which got 10 kills from Alex Carvalho.

Walter Regalado had 13 assists and five digs, and Daniel Pedroza added 11 digs for Clark, which got eight kills from Henok Mucheye.

Bonanza 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Bonanza, Andrew Jensen had eight kills, and Justin Michela added seven kills to lead the Bengals to a 25-13, 25-12, 25-12 sweep of the Pioneers.

Robby Adair had six kills and 12 digs, and Luis Raygoza had 30 assists and five digs for Bonanza.
