VOLLEYBALL: Wildcats beat Gators in tough-fought match

Chris Kampshoff had 17 kills, 19 digs and two aces, and T.J. Esporas added 16 kills and 17 digs Thursday to help Las Vegas High’s boys volleyball team to a 20-25, 25-17, 19-25, 25-20, 15-11 win at Green Valley.

Shayne Marquez had 46 assists and 15 digs, and Evan Kinard added 20 digs for the Wildcats.

Dustin Elliott had 15 kills and 12 digs, and Zachary Hewitt supplied nine kills and 16 digs for the Gators. Chase Larson had eight kills and seven blocks, and Kyle Accardy provided 19 digs for Green Valley.

Shadow Ridge 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Carter Johnson supplied eight kills and eight digs to lead the Mustangs to a 25-9, 25-16, 25-10 sweep of the Grizzlies.

Austin Wilshire added five digs for Shadow Ridge.

Bradd Robison had five digs for Spring Valley.

Palo Verde 3, Durango 0 — At Durango, Andrew Weston supplied 30 assists, and Brigham Clawson put down 14 kills to lead the Panthers by the Trailblazers 25-5, 25-13, 25-21.

Steven Day added seven kills for Palo Verde.

Isaiah Favela had six kills, and Andre Shabazz added 10 assists for Durango. Frank Patricio had three aces and two blocks, and Joshua Semmerling had three kills for the Trailblazers.

Silverado 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Jeremiah Ward had 10 kills to help the Skyhawks to a 25-15, 25-19, 25-10 win over the Pioneers.

Andrew Lee had six kills, and Eric Giron added three kills for Silverado.

Gaspar Gonzalez had four kills, and Jose Gonzalez supplied three digs for Canyon Springs.

Arbor View 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Arbor View, Chris Heron dished out 41 assists, and Darrell Swanson had 12 kills and four blocks as the Aggies swept the Mountain Lions, 25-15, 28-26, 25-22.

Sam Buckels had eight kills, and Peter Peck contributed 16 digs for Arbor View.

Julius Sison had 26 assists, and Clyde Balagtas added 13 kills for Sierra Vista, which got seven kills and eight digs from Diego Gutierrez.

Valley 3, Rancho 0 — At Rancho, Jack Heavey had 16 kills, seven digs and four blocks as the Vikings posted a 25-16, 28-26, 25-22 win over the Rams.

Matt Ballaro had 13 kills and seven digs, and Alex Sandoval added 40 assists and nine digs for Valley, which got 16 digs from David Delaney.

Ryan Hafen had 11 kills, and Montef Hargrove added seven kills for Rancho.

Chaparral 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Chaparral, Pierce Morgan racked up eight kills, eight assists and five aces in the Cowboys’ 25-17, 25-11, 25-17 sweep of the Miners.

Matt Sanger had five kills and six digs, and Jesus Botello added 10 digs for Chaparral.
