1A ALL-LEAGUE: Panthers, Muckers rewarded for fine play

It was no secret which were the two best volleyball teams in the Class 1A Southern League this season.
Pahranagat Valley and Tonopah combined for 53 wins, and both are headed to the state semifinals.
And both squads are well represented on the All-Southern League first team, as well.
Halie Lewis, who led the Panthers to a sweep of Tonopah in the Southern League title match last Saturday, was named the league’s MVP.

The Panthers also had a pair of first-team representatives in Dakota Day and Kyla Mortensen.
Tonopah placed three players on the first-team — Britney Klapper, Sam Kimber and Deanna VanPoucke.
Lund’s Melynda Boren, Beatty’s Kaitlin Ulrich, Indian Springs’ Heather Thormahlen, and Round Mountain’s Carla Chavez fill out the first team.
